The effect of this racism hasn’t matched, however, the effects of white racism against black folks, and Nazis against Jews, and Tutsi against Hutu.

I never said white/black racism was identical to Nazi/Jew racism. I just see similarities, especially as to its effects.

Whites made laws against jews, gypsies, blacks, orientals, pacific islanders, south americans etc etc...laws were made to codify race...that's a quantum leap from tribalism

I believe Sly struggles with nuance at least some of the time, that's the main reason I become frustrated with him on occasion and start getting snippy; that's likely why you're having a strip taken off of you now.

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.

Very much this. That's the era that the concept of race was invented and ceased to be a synonym for ethnicity.

AFAIK, Darmok is a fan and not merely an occasional defender, but I'd be interested to hear his take on his views (obviously?).

BTW, I haven't seen Darmok since his rant about the Antifa thread being closed down.
Has he been banned?
His last post is the 2nd of June.

I think like the other conservatives he was giving a non optional vacation

If the non-nuance were true, I wouldn’t mind it so much.

There are still plenty of conservatives here....and I don’t mind that, even if we don’t agree.

I don’t always agree with the liberals here, either.

I was just making an OBSERVATION.

But you don’t know who actually voted for Trump or Hillary Clinton. Or if they even voted for anybody.

Most people in non-Russian European countries either actively dislike Trump, or merely think he is a buffoon. Most people I converse with think he’s a buffoon, but don’t really “dislike” him.

Name them?
I can’t think of a single one.
The people you likely think are conservatives are probably centrist but due to lack of any conservatives now seem conservative by comparison.
Just like how many left leaning college students don’t think their liberal teachers are liberal enough.

Pepe Would you consider your self right leaning or conservative?
I’m not but I’d wager most on wp would say I am. And one conservative site they’d call me a far leftist.

Reverse apartheid.
Economic apartheid against the whites is a frightening situation in South Africa.
Farms are simply stolen.
I'm not an expert here, and can't be bothered Googling, but wasn't there legislation which took land away from white farmers?
And what about the torture and murder of whites there, because of the sins of their forefathers, and presumably other African countries?
Revenge is a biatch. 8O

I consider myself to be a moderate conservative,
But I'm starting to think, like KraftieK is, I am more an independent.
That should upset both the right and the left.

There is lots of subtle racism in the US. It’s a subconscious thing at times. Many people aren’t consciously aware of their own subtle racism. This occurs amongst all races, all nationalities. To call it primarily a “white” thing is ridiculous.

This, so much this. I've never gotten why some people insist only white people can be racist. Even if in the west institutional racism from whites is the most relevant form, it's not the only form that exists.

Hollywood actor Ramy Yuoseff articulated it well. He acknowledged that all minority groups have anti-blackness ingrained in their societies (Ramy is Arab) but comparing Latino or arab racism to whites is like comparing a provincial basketball club in some country to the NBA. The Americans do basketball better than anyone just like they do racism. They are are hard to beat,

If you say that Arabs don't hate blacks as much as Americans do, that makes sense: Arabs are colored themselves. But Arabs can still be a lot more racist than Americans because anti-black racism isn't the only type of racism. The type of racism that Arabs are known for is the hatred of all non-muslims. And muslims hate non-muslims a lot more than American whites hate American blacks. In general, non-white communities tend to be a lot more ethnocentric than white ones and the line between ethnocentrism and racism (in the broader sense that is) is pretty blury.

But if you do want to focus exclusively on anti-black racism, even then things are more complicated than you make it. For one thing, America is not the only White nation. So if you take countries that are just as White as America yet weren't exposed to all this left wing propaganda that America is exposed to, I imagine they would be more racist against blacks. But since Americans like to call themselves out on their own racism, thats probably what lead to the mistaken idea that they were.

Pepe thinks of himself as a rationalist, I believe. I don’t believe a specific political label is important to him.

All right, Sly. You have your experiences, I have mine.
