No I didn't know that. Never herd that before or ever seen it used that way. Variations of "((((hugs))))" is something I have seen on WP and other forums for years to express sympathy and such. That's where I learned it from.

What I usually see is someone posts something like: "I just got into an argument and it upset me"
And then someone replies with "((((hugs)))" or "{{hugs}}" the number of parenthesis or brackets varying.

So where do you see it being used by white nationalists and Anti-Semites to designate someone as Jewish?

Honestly a lot of people do or say things that are considered racist, homophobic, sexist, or anti-semitic without even realizing it or intending it to be that way.

I've heard of people thinking that the term "ma'am" is racist for crying out loud! :|

It seems like such use would be quite esoteric. From mine and Persephone's experience it's like being told the :- ) emoticon is a nazi symbol. And I bet only you or cyberdad would know shuch a thing out of the entire WP community.
