Hmmm, I don't know where and when the photos were taken but the first one looks perfectly peaceful and totally unlike "burning" any city "down", so I don't see any reason to fear this kind of protest.

The other one, with the fire, has too tricky light to tell skin color but people there do look like "worse districts" inhabitants (e.g. the way they're dressed), so I'd say these were protesting for themselves.

It depends who you ask: If you ask academics and people (aboriginal or otherwise) in the "upper"\"upper middle" classes, they'd probably say yes, but the aboriginal people I have spoken with (working class and\or middle class) would say no (my mother-in-law's partner is Aboriginal, and I've spoken to him and a number of people from his tribe on the subject, as well as a number of others)...

Then maybe the fear is unreasonable?

I suppose the fear is reasonable if it brings about political change. The Nazis used fear to great success, and their spiritual heirs are doing the same in our present day.

Whether National Socialism was or wasn't "Socialism" would probably not be on the minds of people confined in Auschwitz.

No, but it does assist others in understanding who MaxE was referring to as their "spiritual heirs", which was the reason for posting the video.

Why are reactionaries so ashamed to be associated with their forebears?

I don't like the term "reactionaries". It brings bad memories of Soviet time propaganda.

Reactionaries are people who merely "react" to things, rather than offer solutions.

That's the majority of people, regardless of their political affilation.

True....but those who are reactionaries actively block viable solutions.

It's still an accurate description though, even if the context you're familiar with it in is loaded.

The modern far-right constantly tries to re-imagine earlier far-right extremist movements as having nothing to do with the right.

^ If we take it that way, the left has just as big sins on its historical conscience... but I think such game of assigning assotiations is pointless. Actions matter way more than banners.

It only matters when posters try to dishonestly associate the NSDAP with the left in an attempt at pretending evil belongs solely to those they oppose.

Extremism of all stripes----is still Extremism.

Living under a Nazi regime as a non-Aryan would have been a nightmare-----but living under Stalin certainly wouldn't have been much better.

I think in the times of NSDAP, conservatives were the ones supporting privileges of aristocracy, communists were "the left" and national socialists could have been seen as kind of centre in this regard 8O

The Versailles Treaty was a sad mistake; it enabled the Nazis to emerge. The Allies did not repeat that mistake after World War II.

True....the Nazis wouldn't have been "conservative"----they were extremists.

Trump is not a conservative. He's more like a populist reactionary.
