It's not uncommon for people to lose sight of the fact that we're all human beings when stereotypes and generalizations are so prevalent. Dehumanizing and demonizing the other is nothing new. I just think it's more accessible than it used to be.
Yes it's nothing new. The animosity against Jewish people is thousands of years old. The whole reason Abraham fled the babylonians is because thousands of years ago as his people were forced to flee. Their adherence to their faith is very old. It will continue to be a source of conflict with the Palestinians for centuries more after we are both long gone.
Dude ...you have your facts
really messed up.
Abraham never "fled" anyone.
Abraham was basically on a business trip...he was probably a trader and nomad (like the Bedouin Arabs of today) who the Bible says "left Ur of the Chaldeans". Yes it was in Mesopotamia, but it was not "Babylon" but the city of Ur of the Assyrians (the other name for the Chaldeans).
The Bible doesnt say that the Assyrians persecuted him for his faith.
He didnt yet have the relgion to persecute until after his trip started. It wasnt until AFTER he left Assyrian Ur and was in the desert that God spoke to him and made the covenant with him. It was only then that he founded Judaism. Niether he, nor anyone else on the Planet, was Jewish before that moment.
Which is why Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, are together called "the Abrahamic faiths". They all trace their roots back to that moment AFTER started his business trip away from Ur.
AFAIK Jews were not really persecuted as Jews until after the destruction of the Temple and the Disaspora in around 100 AD (over two thousand years after Abraham is supposed to have lived).
