I don't really think you're entitled to decide where people in "free" countries should live. Neither are any of us. We've all been coerced into schilling for the landed gentry.

For a deep thinker you haven't played the tape all the way through to the end. Who are you going to oust from 15-20 years of dedicated service, to make way for all these success stories? How do you think these kids/graduates are going to feel when they find the job markets saturated in their careers of choice? You'll have to put a 45 year old out to pasture, and with the retirement age climbing, what will they do to survive?

Your plan involves selection, it's just not natural.

Well given that the human race’s fertility rate has been declining since 1950, and is no longer at a sustainable rate ~ finding employment for the younger generation's "success stories" is not a problem; having enough young, healthy and well educated "success stories" is now the greater concern!

Birth rates are on the decline ~ and it's a problem!

Quote:
Why a Falling Birth Rate Is a Big Problem.
It sounds like one of those stories you can safely ignore: The U.S. birth rate has hit a record low, led by a big drop in the portion of immigrant women having babies.

And:

Quote:
Earth population may start to fall from 2040. Does it matter?
The conventional projection by the UN is that world population, currently 7.7 billion, will increase to 11.2 billion in 2100, then stabilise before slowly declining. However, current trends cast much doubt on this picture. Fertility rates are in dramatic decline worldwide and world population may peak below nine billion by 2050 and then decline.

I think someone forgot to tell the poor about declining birthrates. There's big money in procreating and welfare fraud. The Foster Care system is so flooded with children they can be murdered and the case workers are the last to know. But, okay. Keep dreaming...

It is not a matter of the poor being informed or not about humanity's sub-optimal birth rates, as the required birth rate is too expensive (sociologically and ecologically) to be maintained under the current Neoliberal system of Free Market Economics, with a coefficient system being much more required instead.

Persephone29 wrote:

Welfare application errors and fraud in the USA involve though a smaller proportion of money (about $77.3 billion a year*); as when compared to tax filing errors and fraud ~ which is where the larger proportion of money is involved totalling about $189 billion a year.**

Underfunded adoption agencies and case-workers of course will be too few in number to cope with the increasing demand for their diminished and overstretched services ~ more on account of the 189 billion-dollar a year tax evasions and the double up and interest on the burrowing required to offset it. This involves the economic trickle-down effect being rendered instead as periodic drip down with wages being restricted by gig economy employers and nullified by the cost of living!

As of April 2019 for example in the united states ~ unemployment stands at 3.6% of the population, and pay rises were estimated to go up between 2.7% and 3.1% ~ whilst the cost of living has been rising at a rate of about 14% over the last four years.*

Unfortunately your account of things has been particularly focused on the worse off welfare fraudsters ~ who collectively as such take less than half as much money; as when compared with the better off and very well off taxation fraudsters ~ who as such got away altogether unaccounted for by you despite them collectively having ripped off more than twice as much! Perhaps keep that in mind if you address this topic again.

Quote:
Why It’s Imperative To Lead By Example
Setting a bad example through unethical behavior or decisions guided by self-interest can have a devastating effect on an organization. There’s a certain degree of truth to the old cliche about a “fish rotting from the head,” and companies that tolerate poor leadership will eventually pay a price for it in the form of diminished profits or high turnover rates.

https://www.onpointconsultingllc.com/blog/why-its-imperative-to-lead-by-example

Without the very well off-shore taxation fraudsters doing the international profit shifting thing, they would not be setting such a poor example to be habitually followed and compulsively supported by the greater and lesser majorities of people in society, and both the cost of living and taxes would instead be decreasing to a sustainable level ~ which would allow for a balanced level of investment in technology and education, and as such provide better quality of goods and more effective services.

It seems you mistake your sense of ‘dreaming’ for my sensibility and exemplification of 'theorizing', in this respect.

I can understand the appeal of the conservative viewpoint....but I just can’t understand the appeal of Trump.

in a nutshell, trumpy's appeal to his base is he gives them "permission" to be deplorable. permission to be nativist, racist, bigoted, selfish. permission to be their worst selves. he leads them by his rotten example, and has elevated selfishness into a virtue just like rand said.

He's more appealing to them than liberalism and a democrat president. Considering some off the looney ideads the ones running for president have come up with like giving the public free everything while spending trillions on climate change, I don't blame them.

Ezra, are you not worried that Trump could destroy what's left of your country if granted another 4 years? Do you want to live in a wasteland? You're at liberty to vote for him but WHY?

At least his opponents have some humanity even if far from perfect.

Actually it is the unrealistic ideas of his opponents that cause me to see an economic collapse that would turn America into a wasteland. Free everything for Americans and free everything for millions of immigrants after the border is eliminated. Such caring, such humanity, such a recipe for disaster.

No one's "eliminating" the border. No one is suggesting anarchy or a "free-for-all".

The only thing I consistently expect from you is 'gimme.'

cyberdad is from Australia, and in Australia they already have things like universal health care, you know, that "gimme" thing or whatever.

I know where he's from. I also know he doesn't want more immigrants than the outer cities of Australia can handle. Meanwhile, there's a huge chunk of inhabitable land in the center of Australia called 'the Outback.' It's only populated by about 700,000 aboriginals and Cyberdad thinks Australia should save that to preserve Australia's natural resources, while claiming how sh***y the rest of the world is for not cramming every living, breathing person possible on their land. So, of course he wants socialized everything, because how else could anyone afford that? He accomplishes two things: he makes sure Australia dodges an invasion and they aren't likely to relocate because they'll be getting free s**t from everyone else.

I have no use for Cyberdad's version of 'compassion' because it involves everyone else but him.

That's news to me.

What's the cost of a 3145 km border wall which determined people will still succeed in circumventing?

And the cost of uncontrolled climate change can't be measured in dollars.

Those articles didn't contain a bunch of flipped out ranting. Usually it's when they are talking about Trump that they go off the deep end. Pretty much the same thing occurs here as well.
