Doug Ford, the embattled Ontario premier, telephoned supporters on Thursday letting them know that on Friday he will announce that he is abandoning the province’s vaccine passport scheme, and that he will provide more details on Monday.

One supporter recorded the call which was provided to Rebel News.

Ford starts his call by saying he had received “about 250 [messages] as of lunch today” asking him to scrap the passport.

“We’re pulling these passports. We’re going to get back to normal. I can’t get you the exact date, but it’s going to be very soon. I’ll be speaking over the next few days. Friday I’m going to put out a statement. Monday I’ll be giving some dates. And we’re going to move forward.”

I read that Ontario will finally be getting rapid tests too. But get this. People will have to pick them up. They will be at undisclosed grocery stores until supplies run out, and you're only supposed to get one if you're sick. That means people will be driving from store to store to find them when they have symptoms, and spreading their germs to healthy people (many of whom only leave home for groceries).

Oh, and the results can't be tracked by public health or used to verify your status.

Smooth move, Doug.

Oh, I'm sure it's just a few rogue elements, nothing to do with the main protest.

Am I doing this right?

Ha ha

(I don’t know know if you’ve noticed, but I haven’t debated any details on the protests themselves, just made open generalized comments, not applying them directly. I’m more a reader here on the topic than well versed participant. But with any protest, knowing who is responsible for what actions is tricky business. Always good to remember that. So … who knows, could be rogues)

It would be interesting to know if any media (besides Rebel) tried something like this during the "occupation", and to see how circumstances there differed (or were the same) as another recent occupation:

Quote:
SEATTLE — On June 8, Seattle police frantically loaded what they could from the East Precinct into trucks and cars. Within hours, they boarded up and abandoned the station. That night, left-wing protesters from Black Lives Matter and Antifa declared ownership of the six-block neighborhood in the middle of the Pacific Northwest’s largest city. They named their new territory the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,” or CHAZ. No laws or rules applied here except for one: “No cops allowed.”

During five undercover days and nights in the zone, I witnessed a continuing experiment in anarchy, chaos and brute-force criminality. In order to avoid being exposed as a journalist — several reporters have been barred or expelled — I slept and showered outside the zone. (Those inside have no showers but they do have portable bathrooms.) I took meals, and most of my water breaks, elsewhere because I was reluctant to remove my mask and risk being recognized. Every day I entered the zone twice through its semi-porous borders — once in the early afternoon, and again after sundown, staying until the wee hours.

Crime has surged inside and outside the zone.

My, we are defensive about this subject, aren't we...

If it is the case that the article is as you describe, then you should have no problem pointing out any inaccuracies within the article, as well as anything that "incites racist sentiment": Bearing in mind that this is an article written by the (POC) author, based on their person experience at the occupation site, and/or referencing events reported in other sources regarding the occupation...

Canadian leader declares state of emergency over bridge blockade, plans to arrest protesters

Quote:
Canadian officials are preparing to move against a group of truck drivers who have blocked the nation’s busiest border bridge between the U.S. and Canada in protest of the country’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford Friday declared a state of emergency in the Canadian providence, saying at a news conference that authorities plan to enact temporary orders that will fine protesters blocking the bridge up to $100,000 and sentence them to up to a year in jail.

“Make no mistake: this is a pivotal moment for our nation. The eyes of the world are upon us right now, and what they are seeing is not who we are,” he said. “As a province, as a nation, we must collectively draw a line. We must stand for the values that define us.”

Authorities also will take away the personal or commercial driver’s licenses of anyone who defies the orders, Ford said, calling for the truckers and other protesters to peacefully go home.

The protesters agreed just before Ford’s comments to open one lane of traffic that exits the bridge, CBC News reported Friday. The decision also came before an Ontario court will hear an injunction seeking to end the blockade.

Protesters have also been blocking the border crossing at Coutts, Alberta, for a week and a half, and more than 400 trucks have been in downtown Ottawa, Canada’s capital, in a protest that began late last month, according to the Associated Press.

The protests have drawn the attention of the White House in recent days, as the blockade has caused parts shortages for some companies, most notably automakers. General Motors, Ford Motor, Honda Motor, Toyota Motor and Stellantis have all had to cut or limit production shifts due to parts shortages caused by the protesters.

Ford’s comments come a day after the Biden administration urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government Thursday to use its federal powers to end the truck blockade, according to the Associated Press.

Am imagining the US government will have none of that ! There
will be disinformation campaigns of a huge scale.
They WILL source out the leaders by electronic communication .. Private security companies , usually referred to as mercenaries will likely be employed. Road blocks . Sorting everyone they can .. and very quite emergency measures by homeland security in conjunction with other agencies .(From observing actions and surveillance the leaders of these truckers have already been identified up in Canada .) Very possibly will take action. But I really hope these truckers are able to make a difference in spite of countermeasures by the US gov. That is if This situation arises.

Little do people realize in the USA are made to disappear regularly , by burying them into the criminal justice system ,
And keep moving them from location to location to make staying in touch with them to help all but impossible .
Often one location will denie , ever having had someone by that name in their custody or will pretend not to know what has become of them .. Except the most skilled and dedicated support people ,and requiring legal assistance can track prisoners in custody .Dates of their trials are not available often and can be sentenced and disappeared. Into State or Federal prisons. If lucky the prisoner might be able to call and provide some info as to their whereabouts.
Provided the people they call just happen to get the call, when they are calling. Have seen this and been through it in helping others entrapped by the system. Hope God is with these brave truckers .

Given your statement about it being a "sensationalist piece" "inciting racist sentiment" was made 8 minutes after the sample of the article and link were posted, this sudden attempt to backtrack from providing any evidence to support those claims (through simply posting what you read in the article in that short amount of time which prompted those claims) seems to be a case of your personal distaste for the (inconvenient) truth which the article presents, rather than the article being as you asserted...

It's OK to admit that your prior statement about the article was neither honest, nor truthful... It won't surprise anyone.

Have you looked into alternate online tutorial material that would probably be more ADHD-friendly, e.g on brilliant.org?
