Edit: This is extremely concerning.
Iran-backed Hezbollah, which fought a war with Israel in 2006, made the call for the day pf protest in Beirut in a statement late on Tuesday, after Palestinian officials said hundreds of people were killed in the strike on the hospital.
Israel's military denied responsibility for the bombing, saying military intelligence suggested the hospital was hit by a failed rocket launch by the enclave's Palestinian Islamic Jihad military group.
Islamic Jihad denied that any of its rockets were involved in the hospital blast.
Hundreds of Lebanese protesters, some waving Palestinian flags, gathered late into Tuesday night outside the U.S. embassy in response to the incident. Others gathered outside the French embassy in Beirut.
Tear gas was fired at protesters near the U.S. embassy in Lebanon.
In denouncing what the group said was a strike by Israel, Hezbollah said in its statement: "The attack reveals the true criminal face of this entity and its sponsor ... the United States, which bears direct and complete responsibility for this massacre."

The protests organized by Hezbollah and their ilk (btw, I have no liking of them at all, I vote a different camp, none of my camp joined the protests because these protests' theme is about call for war against Israel which we are so against - it's not a protest of solidarity with victims of Gaza) only reinforces my belief (hopefully I am not mistaken) that Iran/Hezbollah won't join the war, not beyond the skirmiches game "for saving face" that they had been doing with Israel for so long. Hezbollah should be more busy with organizing his readiness for war rather than doing mass protests; these protests are simply to divert their populace from the fact that Iran has abandond Gaza to its fate.
Iran keeps talking about "red lines" not to be crossed, but it's too vague about what these red lines are.
It reminds me of a funny typical story in schools, do you remember the school mates who tell you go ahead, go hit the big bully, don't be afraid, we will back you up! And once you hit the bully, your supposedly team... disappears?
This basically what happened to Hamas.
Remember the Maine!
The US battleship that blew up in Havanna harbor...blamed on Spain...or the Cuban seperatists fighting Spain... NO...it was those Spanish bastards...and it sparked the Spanish American War.
Turned out it was an accidental boiler explosion. Some stoker in the American crew messed up. Nothing to do with any deliberate action by any side in the conflict. Oh well.
But it made a perfect excuse to start a war.
Either SOME group in Gaza (HAMAS or some rogue Jihad group) hit the hospital with rockets by accident.
or
Israel hit it with ordinance of some kind (fired or dropped from planes, or ground to ground missles) by accident.
Or
Israel hit it on purpose. Why I dont know.
or
Hamas or some Gaza rogue jihad group did it on purpose. And did so to frame Israel.
Take your pick ...and rank them by likelyhood if you want.
But it sure makes a good excuse for SOME one to join in the war. That much is rather certain.
I do not see a realistic Israeli motivation. What would they gain by intentionally targeting a hospital? This incident has hurt their chances of eliminating Hamas. Even assuming the motivation is genocide they are aware that public opinion hurts their chances or delays the genocide. Be it saying Hamas was there, allowing “corridors” shows a keen awareness of public opinion.
Relating to my post earlier, here is the IDF media interview as was broadcast by Sky News where they claimed to show proof that the blast at the hospital was actually due to a PIJ rocket:

Sounds about right.Any excuse will do.

I hope you're right. I didn't really think you'd vote for Hezbollah people.
I voted for Biden. Oops.

The U.S. has an independent assessment that it was a Palestinian Islamic Jihad group rocket that misfired and hit the hospital in Gaza, according to two senior U.S. officials.
We all knew HAMAS was lying. They use hospitals as civilian shields. On the government broadcaster (ABC) last night, the Australian government has called HAMAS a "fascist organisation" that is "misogynist" and "anti-Semitic" The Australian government stands with Israel.
ALL governments lie when it suits their purposes. I don't entirely trust an American investigation, either, since they had already chosen a clear side. I trust no one. ![]()
Investigations carried out by completely disinterested and unbiased third parties would be ideal, but they are hard to come by.
In other words, on this topic, my personal stance is still one of uncertainty, but once again, even if Israel isn't responsible for this particular atrocity, they still are for others.

Center left Israeli news channel caught the whole thing on video, you can see the rocket launches from Gaza just prior to the explosion at the hospital. Seems pretty definitive.

If it’s a real video. We have no way of knowing. I could probably find a teenager capable of making a video like that, whether with editing tools or AI generator or both etc.
Maybe it’s real and that’s the truth, maybe not and it isn’t. We’ll never know. That’s what happens in wars these days. We’re shown and told what to believe regardless of what’s really happening.

Selective skepticism is just as bad as selective credulousness, not that I expect that fact to penetrate. There's also a lot of aerial footage of the damage to the hospital from a variety of sources floating around, the damage actually looks much less severe than what was initially reported, which also would tend to cast doubt on the claimed body count.

On further reflection, what would be the Israeli motive in blowing up a hospital and trying to frame Hamas? They don't need to make them look like murderous savages, they already do a bang up job of that themselves, discovery of their role would be positively ruinous, and if they can't claim responsibility it doesn't have any deterrent effect. What is the theory of the crime here? It's all downside and no upside, which regardless of what you think of the morality of Israel would be very out of character for how practical they tend to be.

No matter who was at fault most people think Israel did it intentionally and that is all that matters.
It is what it is.

That's my point exactly, and Israel is not God. Their word doesn't necessarily mean the absolute truth.

Right. But without trusting either side absolutely we have to compare the evidence and consider what's most probable. Is there any comparable evidence for the other side's claim that it was an Israeli rocket?

Not really, I am leaning to the misfired rocket theory after thinking.

I remember Israel denied first the Qanah massacre back then, but then evidence emerged that they were the culprit:
