Breaking: Active Shooter(s) In Mandalay Bay Hotel (NSFW)
All the links had no evidence of any jihad connection whatsoever, they just cited the fact that Isis had claimed this. Isis acts in its own interest to spread terror that it is all powerful, and this is one of its tactics, opportunistically claiming that completely independent killers are Isis jihadis. Makes sense from their perspective, I guess.
If Paddock was a Jihadi, DT would be announcing it now to the whole world and gloating. He isn't doing that, because it isn't true. Unless you know a whole lot more that is valid proof of course.. otherwise it is just what legal minds call hearsay.
..
NurseAngela, you posted earlier in this thread that the gunman had been identified at a Trump rally, ("proof" some rightists have said of what ratbags liberals are??) Seems someone at the rally must have had a visual impairment:

HEY! This came to my mind and I found the article. I remember seeing this back in September and a nurse I work with was going to Las Vegas for vacation and I had said to her "maybe you shouldn't go because it was in the news that ISIS might attack." She laughed of course.
This is what I had read:
On Sept. 11, there was a twitter posting that appears to be authored by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that threatens Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Miami and Las Vegas, the document states.
Tweets linked to ISIS target hurricane cities
Threatening social media posts that appear to be connected to ISIS are targeting Miami, Houston and other cities.
CNBC obtained a "situation awareness" document from the Homeland Security Bureau.
At least one posting calls for attacks on the "relief centers housing displaced people" from the hurricanes and subsequent floods.

Law enforcement officials have been advised to step up alerts for "lone wolf attackers" in Miami, Houston and other cities in the wake of threatening social media posts that appear to be connected to ISIS, according to an internal government intelligence document.
The confidential "situation awareness" document, obtained by CNBC, is dated Sept. 14 from the Homeland Security Bureau's Southeast Florida Fusion Center. The center is the Miami-Dade Police Department's Homeland Security Bureau. It was sent to law enforcement and "homeland security communities."
"On Sept. 11, there was a twitter posting that appears to be authored by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that threatens Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Miami and Las Vegas, the document states.
The posting said there were "a lot of opportunities for the Soldiers of Islamic state to target, the Question is When?"
The document, which is unclassified, mentions a Newsweek article dated Sept. 6 that cites another ISIS posting calling for attacks on Houston relief centers. The article said: "To all the (lone mujahids) in the U.S. (warrior), pop down to Houston and drop in at any of the relief centers housing displaced people from the Houston floods, make sure to bring lots of supplies/gadgets/toys to see if you can help put any (unbeliever) out of their misery."
The document also states: "Another Jihadist, in Arabic writing said, 'A historic hurricane will hit Florida, especially the city of Miami soon' One that would leave an 'international tragedy' on American soil. He quotes Allah saying that a 'roaring wind in the days of the snakes' had been sent and makes use of a hurricane emoji."
An analyst comment in the document says that "these posts appear to be more aspirational than operational, with hopes that their followers would then act on calls for attacks. Incidents involving lone wolf attackers have demonstrated the potential danger, lethality and effectiveness of a rehearsed small arms or knife attack that can be carried out by a single individual with little or no training. It also underscores the potentially higher consequences of an assault attack involving multiple operatives."
The alert states, "officers should continue to maintain situational awareness of their surroundings."
States and local governments operate fusion centers for intelligence information sharing and analysis, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The document is labeled unclassified and for official use only.

For conspiracy buffs:
Earlier this year ISIS threatened Las Vegas
On the same day as the Vegas attack there was terrorist attacks in Marseille and in Edmonton. An ISIS flag was found in Edmonton attack vehicle.

My assessment of the situation.
1. I do not believe he was a jihadist for the reasons stated by others.
2. I do not believe the shooting was politically motivated or that he was targeting right wingers, because he had previously booked a hotel near Lollapalooza. I believe he chose the Rout 91 festival merely because it was local and convenient.
3. I do not believe he is part of a conspiracy for a number of reasons.
4. I do believe that someone helped him, but not knowingly.
5. I do not believe he had been planning this for as long as he had been hoarding guns.
The reason for 4 and 5 is, he did not stash his firearms as if they were merely utilitarian tools. He kept many of them in a gun room and at least one of them had been custom made. For this reason, I suspect he was a firearms affectionado, and I suspect he was able to obtain some of the things that he was from unsuspecting arms dealers or other affectionados who he had formed a rapport with, much like his rapport with the casinos put him outside the realm of suspicion.
6. He had significant life stressors.
a) He was intelligent. He was able to utilize his knowledge of algorithms to beat the house and make gambling profitable for him. The downside to being very intelligent is you are surrounded by morons.
b) He had extreme chemical sensitivity to the point of having to wear gloves, and being unable to take medication for high blood pressure.
c) He had health problems (unchecked high blood pressure) which can cause bleeding in the brain, among other things, leading to white matter vascular disease, which may be linked to dementia. His physical condition had been deteriorating.
d) He was anti-social. He was a divorcee, and while he was dating a woman close enough to his age, she was south east Asian. He was distant from his family and had built a high fence around a hill top house, citing to a neighbor who complained that he didn't people looking at him and he didn't want to look at other people.
e) He did not know how to deal with his dislike/frustrations with people in a health manner, thus the facade of "kind" and "polite", which leads me to conclude....
Conclusion
He was a misanthropist who was frustrated with the human species and didn't know how to deal with it except to mask his hostilities. This alone does not drive someone to commit mass murder. Health problems which he could not treat may have directly or indirectly altered his state of mind, however, and could have been what pushed him over the edge. If his motives were a cumulative lifetime of frustrations then he may not have cared to bother with an explanation because "tl:dr" no one wants to read a woe is me life story.

I haven't heard about the high blood pressure. So you are saying he had some TIA's or mini strokes? No proof of that. Did you find info that he had a CT of the head? The only drug I have heard about is the valium.

You didn't explain #3. And who would #4 be - that needs more explanation. The "very intelligent" comment and about how others are the morons irritates me. He was the moron. A lot of the intelligent people are the ones who act like idiots - just like he did.

and?
South east Asian women have a reputation among older American men who struggle socially as being "better" and more willing to date them, than American women.
It's not gunfire. It's the reflection of a light bouncing off the window or a flickering light in the room. The windows at that casino can't be opened, which is why he had to break them. There are no broken windows on the 4th floor.
Can't glass be cut like a small circle that the head of a gun might fit through?
Glass can be cut but these rooms are checked regularly and the hole would be noticed.

I am not saying he had TIAs or mini strokes. I said high blood pressure can cause bleeding in the brain, and white matter vascular disease, which may be linked to dementia...the bleeding is often capillary bleeding.
White Matter Vascular Disease
What's curious though, is that given that he was as intelligent and methodical as people say he was, why did he have excess? He had an excess number of guns and tannerite. Surely some of the guns were part of a back up plan, but why so much tannerite? Did he not implement something he had planned to? Is it a red herring? Or is it possibly a hint that he did implement something that has not yet come to fruitation? Or is it perhaps a result of declining cognitive abilities?

White Matter Vascular Disease
Any bleed in the brain is a stroke or a TIA. High blood pressure can lead to a stroke. White matter vascular disease may lead to dementia.
Again, I have not heard that he had high blood pressure.
The article says that white matter disease can be linked to hypertension, high cholesterol, poorly-managed diabetes, an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, and smoking by hardening the capillaries in the brain leading to strokes.
All this is getting pretty involved - were you in the room during Paddocks last physical? I haven't heard anything about his health except he had anxiety and was a heavy drinker. And the dementia diagnosis would need a brain scan.

Report: Vegas shooter may have scouted Fenway Park as possible target
Authorities reportedly believe Stephen Paddock researched hotels near the historic Boston ballpark
One of the locations that the shooter reportedly looked into was Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox, and its surrounding areas.
Boston Police said they're aware of the reports and are working with federal authorities to determine the extent of the research that was done and what Paddock's plans may have been.

His high blood pressure and the fact that he couldn't treat it was mentioned here.

It's the reason he could not get medical clearance to renew his pilot's license.
He was good at "robotic repetition" of repeating what the gambling sites say to do on a slot machine.
That's not intelligence.
That's mental toughness.
Like his former job as an accountant, he needed discipline, and endurance for robotic repetitition of mundane mental activities (e.g., "number crunching").
