OMG YOU TOOK TWO PARAGRAPHS OFF OF MY POST YOU MISQUOTED ME!! !! !

That's my impresion of you. You're pretty hypocritical doing that, too, in all seriousness.

Now, this perticular business has been running for only a month, but has only just received its first stock last week. So, in the space of a week, I seem to have started a business which makes me more than you wage-wise (at least, I assume so since you're so reluctant to answer the question).

Now, if you'd quoted the entirity of my post, you'd have seen I said "a mere few hundred quid in a day is just the start." No, I'm not a big shot, but I've been selling for a week and I'm making more than you by the hour. What does that tell you?

It tells me that you make assumptions son. Based on thin air. You have made the assumption that because I haven't waffled on about how much money I make, or have, or what my net worth is, that I can't be making as much as you with your month old business. I would like to point out that your business being a mere month old reduces substantially what little gravitas your comments in the other thread ever had. LOADS of experience in a MONTH. Also, why do you think I keep referring to your "profit" as pocket money? Maybe its because I've blown more on a night out as DISPOSABLE INCOME than your business has made so far? Maybe I'm not weighed down with a grotesquely swollen ego which demands that I wave my cash around like an 80s stereotype, as if it somehow indicates my worth, or the level of respect I should be getting? You aren't old enough to remember Loadsamoney. Maybe you should youtube it. Harry Enfield. Believe me, you cannot buy respect, or friends. Just makes you look like a bigheaded tosser.

It also tells me that you don't understand the difference between ignoring the irrelevant part of a post which is just you waving your metaphorical business-penis around because you think its bigger than mine, and your changing the whole meaning of a line from a question to an accusation with pernicious editing, whilst also completely avoiding the RELEVANT TO TOPIC query it contains. (A question you still haven't answered, by the way.) That's about it. Oh, and that you're s**t at keeping to a topic.

So, ON TOPIC (remember the topic is not "I sell imported Chinese toss because I think I'm Alan Sugar" or "Respect my authority because I wear long trousers and big boy shoes now.") the query remains: In what manner do your "peers" use the term "Spastic"?

Selling "imported Chinese toss" is pretty much is what Amstrad was, and it made him quite a bit, didn't it?

Now, I admit I was stupid throwing numbers around like that, I'm not too big headed to realise I'm wrong sometimes. But, in my defense, I wrote that post at 1:28am, I wasn't exactly at full brain capacity :P

£100 in a day is still good, though. The average daily wage in the UK is £71. But £45 is indeed very little for a day, though still good for two hours, since the average hourly wage is about £9 (assuming you're doing the 9 to 5).

However, I have more business experience than what you've assumed. I said that this particular business is a month old, not that I've only been in business myself for a month. I'm also going to be making a lot more money than that, too. As I said, but as you left out of my post when you quoted me, this is a mere start.

But since you've insulted my business so much, how's your business doing, then? Wait, you don't have one, you work for other people, making them rich. Huh.

Oh, and...

You're very mature for someone who's trying to say I'm the child here, aren't you?

And no, that was not misquoting you. Taking that out of context doesn't change its meaning at all, so don't go and try that again.

Back on topic, then.

My peers use the term "spastic" to the piss out of disabled people, obviously. Or people they think act in a way they deem to be "ret*d". I don't see why I had to explain something so trivial.

Why should anyone care? There's comedians making RACIST jokes, which is the same deal.

Get a sense of humor.

I'm old enough to have had an Amstrad. They were bollocks. And waving around your metaphorical penis is EXACTLY what you are trying to do with your constant "I'm more successful than you" spiel. Its perfectly IN context, because it describes what you are attempting incredibly well. Its childish and vulgar, and makes you look like a twat. Acting like that will ALWAYS make you look like a twat. Might be behaviour you want to look at adjusting before you spend the rest of your life looking like a twat. By all means make money, be successful, rise to the top of your trade, but please do try and do it with a little humility. Unless you WANT everyone to think you're a twat for the rest of your life?

I quote you: Making jokes about something isn't the same as condoning it, and just so you know, many people do still call disabled people sp****cs in a very serious manner - perhaps they're more worth your time than a comedian who's sense of humour isn't one you happen to share?

So when you said "serious manner" what you actually meant was "as an insulting and derogatory term." as I did ask you to qualify who these people were, and you said "your peers." Do you think that taking the piss out of the disabled is acting in a serious manner?
Sounds like your peers are a shower of tossers. Nice mates you have. Exactly the sort of people who think Boyle is funny as f**k.

In deadly seriousness, it is painfully evident from extensive reading of all manner of threads and forums, and the articles and letters in a multitude of media, that there is a section of the British Public who seem to genuinely support the idea that disabled people should at the very least quietly f**k off and die, or in the worst cases, be killed because they are a drain on society. The disabled to them are an epic sponge, liars, benefit cheats, potential rapists and murderers. These forums range from Facebook posts, to British Police Forums, through various media outlets right down to "Support" sites for pregnant women. In every case there is always a very vocal group of commenters and posters posting hatred, disablism, proposing involuntary euthanasia, or just plain f*****g genocide. A lot of these posters are just plain everyday folk. They aren't Stormfront regulars, or Daily Mail readers. Just people, going about their daily lives with the belief that the disabled would be better off dead. Some of them think they are being considerate, a lot of them are being straight-up selfish. I find this attitude sickening, primitive and frankly quite terrifying. Boyle is another in a long line of these people, and if he wasn't on TV, he would just be another one of these barbarians. But he isn't. He gets to broadcast his s**t on a major TV channel, reinforcing the barbaric beliefs of the people who would gladly turn a blind eye to the dehumanisation of a section of society.

ps: If you didn't get bent out of shape about people ripping the piss out of you for being a child, you wouldn't be arguing about it in the Adult Life Discussion forum, would you?

I never said otherwise, I simply said they made Sir Alan Sugar a lot of money. Which they did.

The point is that the word is still used, it is not a "quaint term", as you put it. And again, I'm not supporting anyone's use of it, I'm merely saying it's still used.

Yes, there are people like that. These people are horrible. But they don't hold these views because of f**king comedians.

He made a joke about asperger syndrome on the first episode which I thought was hilarious. As for Harvey, I don't remember him making fun of his autism, but to laugh at a child is kind of lame. I think the outrage is silly but understandible. Afterall, it was a sexual joke about a child. I don't have a problem with him being offensive - he has every right to do so. My problem is that he's become very lazy. Dark comedy is great and sometimes even dead baby humour, but there's a line between a twisted, f****d up but a good joke and lazy writing. Anyone can make fun of Down's Syndrome or abortion (or both at the same time) and anyone can be politically incorrect, but it takes good writing to make that work. Bad or just plai lazy writers just sling out ay sort of crap. I will admit, some of his newer work is pretty good, but now as good as some of his previous work. Some of his sketches/jokes start off brilliant but drag on for too long. He's taking the piss!

Actually, I was talking about this with my peers at college and they agree that the outrage should be pointed at how lazy and effortless his new stuff is (keep in mind, we share a twisted sense of humour). I feel the Harvey price stuff has become a distraction.

I will defend Boyle for one thing, though; SHE should be apologising to disabled people, especially her son. She parades him about all over the media like some kind of circus freak and tries to squeeze a bunch of sympathy from a bunch of morons. She uses her son to make people pay attention to her. She treats her son like he's a brave soldier who fought in Fallujah and like his autism is OMG THE WORST THING EVER AND HE'S SO BRAVE BECAUSE HE HAS IT!! !! !! !

BS! Autism is not a horrible, miserable, evil disease and people aren;t brave for living with it. Yes, it's hard and Harvey is quite a complex case, but I'm sure he's not that miserable! Let the boy have his f*****g dignity! Autism is not the worst thing to happen to a person. There are plenty of severely autistic people who lead great lives and are very happy. I know quite a few of them. Their condition is difficult to live with, but they f*****g well get on with it. The very fact that they live their lives is not something people would be praising like one would praise a war veteran. Harvey's accomplishments are something to celebrate (like for any child), but prostituting your son to the tabloids is despicable. How is that vile joke any different from the vile exploitation of your son, Katie?

Anyway, the joke wasn't even about autism, so the fact that you mentioned it makes me sick to my stomach. I'm sure she was glad to hear this man jok about her son so that she could continue to exploit him for personal gain. f**k you, Katie Price!

Personally, I think his jokes against disabled people is a parody of what society actually thinks of disability anyway.

You clearly missed my point when I originally mentioned people using the term "spastic." I never thought that it was out of use, or that people don't use it at all. I SAID "And when it comes down to it, picking on those who can't defend themselves is just bullying. Its not very funny. If it were THAT acceptable then it would still be acceptable to call the disabled "sp****cs"." In other words, in modern society "spastic" is not considered an acceptable term.

To which your response "just so you know, many people do still call disabled people sp****cs in a very serious manner." is NOT you saying "oh well people still use the term." Its you saying that people still use the word in a NON-INSULTING fashion. That or you seriously need to rethink your use of the words "in a serious fashion." You then decide that what you actually meant was "your mates, who are dick-heads, call people spastic to be rude."

And the term "quaint" was used with perfect accuracy based on your words that you knew people who used the word seriously. In the mouth of a pensioner it would be "quaint". Example: "Oh that poor boy, he's a spastic you know? Are you courting?" QUAINT. OLD FASHIONED. Get it?

So lets clear this up once and for all. Spastic is an insulting term for the disabled, quaint when used in a well-meaning fashion, insulting otherwise. Doesn't matter whether your little friends use it to be rude or not, its still an old-fashioned and insulting term.

As for the rest: I do not claim that Frankie Boyle is some great orator who will turn the heads of the stupid and make them hate "sp****cs" with his words alone. What I am saying to you is that Frankie Boyle is HELPING to propagate that view. He is one part of a larger whole. Horrible people do not develop disablist views JUST because of a crass joke, but making crass jokes supports their world-view that it is acceptable to mock the afflicted in a cruel fashion.

I tire of explaining why you come off as big-headed, and I lack the desire to explain why your "apology" doesn't help, and I'm not explaining again why my metaphor is both timely and accurate. But once more, with feeling: You ARE a child. The very nature of the passage of time, and British law makes it such. Its not something you can argue your way out of. Its only something you can AGE your way out of.

In what way is the helping to propogate any view? As I've already said, joking about something is far from the same as condoning it.

British law states I can get married and have a family at my age. Hardly a child.

Anyway, I tire of arguing against a hypocritical bigot who gets extremely angry about absolutely everything (you seem to have the same attitude to many other WP members as well, judging by some other posts of yours), and refuses to even listen to the opinions of others.

As I've already said, if you really must put me down to satisfy your delusion that you're superior because you have a bigger number listed as your age, then so be it. But it ain't s**t on me. You can go throw chairs at a wall to relieve your anger, now, because I'm ending this.

As I've already said, if you really must put me down to satisfy your delusion that you're superior because you have a bigger number listed as your age, then so be it. But it ain't s**t on me. You can go throw chairs at a wall to relieve your anger, now, because I'm ending this.

I have to specify that "spastic" is still used in an UNACCEPTABLE fashion when pointing out that it isn't acceptable to use it? Surely the one is inferred by the other. Also, tt isn't me that misunderstood the usage of the term quaint so perhaps you NEED to have it explained and yes, you're still a child chronologically. You need parental consent to get married at 16 or 17. That means you have to ask your mum. As a child would. Ergo you are still a child, who still can't grasp a simple concept like the fact that condoning Boyles "jokes" supports the belief that the disabled are fair game. Channel Four are not providing an alternative viewpoint, they are simply letting people believe that "If Boyle can say it, and C4 don't mind him saying it, it must be fine to say it." It makes it more acceptable in the minds of such people.

And my age is neither here nor there. I don't recall actually mentioning my age, and from what I recall it isn't on my profile either. Unless you've stalked through a load of my old posts to somewhere where I have said it (which would be a bit weird) you're taking a guess at my age' just like you speculated about my possible earnings. Actually, if memory serves I have argued in past posts FOR the fact that people should not be disregarded simply because of their age. Just because you think that everyone disagrees with you because of your age, doesn't mean you can't still be plain wrong. Go look that one up. Its there somewhere.

Lets be clear. In this thread, I'm not disagreeing with you because you are young. I'm not disagreeing with you because you are inexperienced. I'm not even disagreeing with you because you are arrogant. I'm disagreeing with you because I believe you to be wrong. Your opinion is skewed, based on incomplete information. You can leave the thread, you can gain experience, you can get older, you can even gain humility, but at the end of it all, unless you come up with something better, you're still going to be wrong.

@italics. In other threads, I might disagree with you for any of those reasons, depending on the subject. Or I might agree with you. Again, depends on the subject. Wouldn't surprise me if I HAVE agreed with you on something somewhere already. Try looking that up as well.
