A woman married to a man, but she's gay. I dunno, just seems you'd be happier with a woman. And guys are more likely to be harrassed for being gay, as a lot of guys think lesbians are hot.
I'm not gay, I'm bisexual.
Talk to me about harassment when you're told you just need 'the gay' raped out of you, k?
Oh ok.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but its just more common with guys. I do think the US is a different animal though, cause so many in certain parts, are backward. People like that need to be locked in a padded cell.

I never said it wasn't more common. The reply you quoted was me joking that I should move there because a GAY GUY said he hadn't been harassed in 7 years for being gay.
Get it?
Get it?
Yeah, but I was saying women are less likely to be harrassed. But anyway, please don't move to the same land as me

It was a completely unnecessary thing to say, and bringing my marriage into question was out of line.

Its really not a civil rights issue, its an issue of common decency. This has nothing to do with refusal of service, and I don't see how punishing this landlord will somehow set a precedent, as he would likely have had no problem with them giving him money if they were respecting his bar's policy. Like I said, I doubt anybody would be crying foul if this had been a straight couple. In fact, it does happen, and nobody cares. These gay men are just trying to enact petty revenge and in so doing are doing a disservice to LGBT rights movements. There are likely many times when gays act openly affectionate and are not told to leave, just like heterosexual couples.
Yup. I saw a photo of one part of the couple on the news page and he was grinning. I don't think it's really anything to do with harassment or anything like that. People just don't want to see other people slobbering all over one another. So, I agree with Vigilans: it seems much more about the couple being spiteful and wanting revenge for being rebuffed, using the 'gay rights' rider. No-one really cares if you're gay in modern-day Britain; just don't shove it in other people's faces (as with any sexuality) and you'll be fine.
The landlord told them to pack it in and they didn't listen and carried on. So it's not like they were chucked out of his pub just for kissing; they were chucked out for refusing to follow a request by the owner. That happens in pubs all the time. People get chucked out of pubs for all sorts of reasons.
The other thing I'd want to mention is that a place like Barnsley is probably pretty socially conservative in the first place. They wouldn't like anyone making out in a pub. Nothing wrong with that - it's his bar.
The other point I'd like to make is this:
If these two prize pillocks succeeded in shutting down this bar - which could be the last in the area for all we know and a relatively popular pub (no mean feat!) - how would the locals then look at the gay rights movement in general?

I agree with you Tequila 110%. I always got told "there's a time and place for everything", and if the rules are clear, abide by them, not hard eh.

It wasn't in Barnsley. It was in soho in London.
