Your are very right. I am giving my part because I have friends who are there now and I will be going there.
I have a problem with people who sit behind a computer eat cheetos and b***h about what they don't understand. Most of these people don't even look into all sides of information.
It's like asking film critics who only like romance movies to rate horror or action. These people keep reading reviews from the same type of people.
Anyways everything is true that you are saying but Saddam does have WMD's because we still have the reciepts from selling them to him...the same as the UK, Germany and France. He did not use them all on the Kurdish upriseing. Maybe he sold them who knows.

Well, supposedly the rest were destroyed back around 1995 when Saddam apparently was getting really distraught about us but he also had some new gear he was working with like the roving chemical trucks, new types of missile tubes, and the very fact that he seemed to be moving trucks just before the UN inspectors would get to a location either served as a). moving the stuff or b). him crossing his fingers and spending hundreds of millions of dollars to try and hopefully antagonize the Americans into a war based on a premise which looked very believable until the rest of the world started Monday-night quarterbacking the intelligence. My guess, b is a little bit too far our there. Of course there was also a 3 month window before the time we declared war and actually took over in the areas where we felt the weapons were - many people feel they ended up in the Damascus Valley in Syria, I don't know what I think and I'm trying not to put too much stock in that thought but I do believe that his point in buying up the UN with the oil for food vouchers was so that he could go back to doing all that stuff again.

lets get back on subject.

I'm a Republican, but I'm starting to doubt our dear presidents reasons for going to war. we caught Saddam, so now lets just leave. with Saddam getting hung, we're all set and done, we can leave and let them rebuild. the only reason we came in besides the supposed WMDs was to take over and get the oil, then make the country totally Westernized. Daddy Bush back in the 80's had the same exact idea, however we ended going in there and making allies with Saddam....should of just shot his ass back then. If we leave now, we let the country rebuild, and then we won't have any Vietnam vets getting flashbacks.

We'd be complete a***holes to leave - they had problems with insurgents before, once we had their military and police force at least partially trained they were finding all kinds of Iraqi cops and military executed by terrorist plants who were leading them straight to traps, and as of lately the sectarian violence is on the rise. As for people having Vietnam flashbacks I don't think that would even compare to what would happen to the Iraqi people, particularly those who went against the Baath party or radical Islam boldly. They don't deserve to have Iran trying to take control or even worse - Shiite majority going to war with the Sunnis and Kurds, we'd have a situation looking more like Yugoslavia under Milosovich , the world would hate us 10x more than they already do and blame us for every last death from sectarian genocide (though admittedly they'll hate us as long as we don't just humbly agree with the status quo - even when status quo means sitting on our hands looking at situations like Darphor or Rawandha like "Wow, must suck to be them..."). Point is I don't care whether its Americans, Arabs, Persians, Indians, Chinese - sitting back and watching people butchered or allowing extremist elements to have their way is just flat out wrong. We got Saddam, great. This is the other side of that contract now - make sure they have a stable enough government to where when we leave it will withstand whatever terrorists or other idiots may try to throw at it, have an intelligence and police force strong enough to handle those things as well or better than we can on our own soil (even if they need to look to the Israeli's for advice on that), and in general a country that won't end up being an annex to Iran's religious despotism.



Oh, and another bit of news, did anyone here about Musharraf and how he felt about the Democrats winning control of the house? I don't know if Musharraf resigned, but supposedly he's terrified by that. Frankly all kinds of people in the middle east, particularly the Iraqis, have intelligence that could help us make them safer but they're terrified to tell us much because they know that they'll need protection from us and if people like Cindy Sheehan get their way it'll mean there's a possibility that we'd pull out and their entire families would be either executed or tortured then executed. I try not to get incensed about the liberal Koolaid around here but when I hear things like that about Musharraf, someone we owe a LOT to who will probably never be able to have a normal life after office and in office had to be surrounded by a huge convoy of police and bodyguards to prevent assassination attempts - shame he sacrificed that much of his time and his own inner peace for a country that breeds people like the Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, and we even have all kinds of people running their mouths thinking that the rest of the world is this great and beautiful place where the neocon cancer of America is just spreading out over it and sucking the life right out. Lol, I'm half afraid if these people really understood the world or got a reality check on exactly what's going on they'd probably go crazy - they just wouldn't be emotionally strong enough to handle it.
