Really? That is ironic.

It is time to establish the Republic of MYOB (Mind Your Own Business).

When the Donald Trumps of the world will stop demanding to see Obama's birth certificate... and his college transcripts... and whatever the hell else he thinks will prove whatever about the President.

-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer

Certainly that. If someone wants to know my income and marks I will happily tell him to f*ck off.

Unfortunately, the most powerful man in the world - or someone wishing to be elected the most powerful man in the world - doesn't have that freedom, simply because telling someone to f**k off doesn't make you look presidential.

Romney released the tax returns because of Harry Reid's phony claims that Romney didn't pay taxes...

Then I guess that would be like Obama showing his birth certificate because of Trump's phony claims that he wasn't born in this country. That is, Trump and all the tea baggers and birthers. I'll tell you what: I might just concede Reed was wrong, if you admit Trump and company were wrong.

-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer

Donald Trump is a private citizen, if he believes Obama's birth certificate is false, he's entitled to his opinion.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is in charge of the United States Senate, he is speaking from a position of authority as the man in charge of the senate, he used that position to try to smear Mitt Romney. What's more he lied about having inside information to prove Romney didn't pay taxes.

That's not what I asked. I asked if you would admit Trump was wrong.

Kraichgauer, while I believe Obama was born in the United States, I'm not sure that particular birth certificate is legit.

Considering how long this birther thing went on, a phony one (I know it is something that would be incredibly juvenile, but yeah I could see some idiot in his administration (probably Axelrod) pull something like this for a laugh) could easily have been thrown out there to continue this narrative in an attempt to paint Obama's critics as just plain nuts.

Trump used to support Obama mind you, so the argument that Donald Trump is some crazy right-wing nut doesn't work.

There's enough supporting evidence to suggest Obama was born in the United States without his birth certificate being dragged into this.

Yes, I know Trump once supported Obama. Trump is motivated solely by his enormous ego, manipulating the feeble minded birthers.
And I fail to see any evidence that the certificate was illegitimate.

I don't think Trump has much to gain in this, and he has access to resources that you and I do not have. So I don't think that Donald Trump was lieing (whether or not he was correct on the validity is another issue); that said there are other sources that show that Obama was born in Hawaii, so I think the Birth Certificate is a non-issue.

But Trump did lie - he said his researchers were finding interesting things in Hawaii concerning the legitimacy of the certificate. In fact, if he had even sent any researchers there at all, they hadn't in fact found anything. Had they, why hadn't he made it public?

Who knows, it could be that they found there was a legitimate birth certificate, but some immature idiot in the Obama White House decided to create a phony one for a laugh. Trump has admitted when he's screwed up before, so it's not like continuing this benefits him any. It's entirely possible he ended up being asked to not talk about it after being shown the real one cause it would be embarassing for Obama to admit he had an immature idiot on his staff.

Considering this isn't being talked about anymore, and it wouldn't benefit either side to leave this hanging, it stands to reason Obama proved to Trump he was born here, but there was some other embarassment that would come out if Trump released the findings (I'm guessing immature idiot on the staff is a possibility).

Or maybe Trump found making such baseless allegations was only destroying what little credibility he has left.
And who says there was ever a fake certificate made in the White House? What evidence is there?

Well there are some irregularities with the birth certificate that the general public was shown, I can't remember what they were off the top of my head, but I do recall there were some.

That said, I do think Obama was born in the United States, reason I suspect this is the result of an immature idiot (ex. Axelrod) is that it wouldn't be the first smearfest some members of Obama's White House being responsible for. The phony sexual harassment smears directed towards Herman Cain is a good example for starters.

My suspicion is, those irregularities exist in the minds of birthers selling their crap to the public.
Herman Cain is a whole other can of worms that you and I would only beat our heads against the wall over.
