I just want this whole thing to have been put to bed long ago by which I mean no punishment for Gary McKinnon and for everyone to just get on with their lives from this point.

I'm very glad Gary McKinnon was not extradited.

The process is the punishment.

McKinnon should have gone through the UK courts, and we should go back to the pre-2003 extradition treaty with the U.S.

Magna Carta, clause 40: "To no one will we sell, to no one will we refuse or delay, right or justice." The reason one goes to court is to get justice, and "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied".

So the next time some Brit twit gets hauled in to a Yank court, I hope the judge gives the maximum allowable sentence under the law.

Thank god we don't have the death penalty here in the UK with people like you about.

I can't believe you quoted the Magna Carta though, why not go one better and refer to the Bible where the only crimes are:

1.) Murder
2.) Adultery
3.) Theft

The world's prisons would be empty.

It made me laugh to hear the Home Secretary get applause for using the human right act to deny extradition.
This was just a simple slight of hand at the end of the day, Babar Ahmad and 3 others where extradited a few days before the McKinnon case was ended. One of the four was Abu Hamza, who was a very clean cut case. The other 3 however are far more murky cases and it's a shame we traded 3 men for 1.
