No, the Spokane area is a pretty decent place, where people's eccentricities are not just accepted, but encouraged. The problem is with me not being able to let go of the past - a point that I conceded. Incidentally, jocks are jocks, no matter where they live, either in the Pacific Northwest or the south.

No.
But too many of them are.

There is a real problem there and no amount of handwaving or belittling the experience of others will change that. The problem spans generations, regions, ethnic groups and types of organization.

So, people aren't born into liking certain things (sport)? I'm pretty sure current science thinks that's how it goes. Some people are born "geeks", some people are born whatever. There's really no choice in interests.

"Racists" tend to be racist due to what someone of a specific race or culture did, and they adopt an all or nothing attitude.
