I never spoke in class like I do here - not as much anyway because it was hard not to say anything. The teacher had even said that there had been fights before in his class and chair throwing, etc., Lord help us. I knew the teacher was Democrat. We did have some heated "discussions", but I held my tongue more than I wanted to. The teacher must have liked my spunk because he hit on me (it was totally unexpected - I was just standing there and looked up and there he was! Our noses were almost touching! Yuck! I think I just threw up in my mouth. That actually bothered me for awhile even though other people were around because he did other things too, but I just can't remember now.), but I got my A! Ha! I made such a good grade that he even let me out of doing a second research paper! I guess I know how to use my Conservative wiles, huh? Oh yeah.

Thanks for helping me make my point! :P

Education should be, and usually is about discourse. Most people who cry about classes being one-sided are just too scared to speak up and defend their own point of view.

Having and expressing different ideas is great. engaging in the dialectic process in order to find a "more truthy" truth is even better. That's what most teachers want to do (in my experience).

Getting my A is more important than trying to prove my point of view to a teacher and a class of kids who I will never see again. My grade will always be with me. And what was your point that I proved again?

Umm.. you said that you did speak up in class (a little bit), but you still got an A.

So, expressing yourself didn't hurt you.

I mean, not speaking out like you do here is a good thing--because most of the time you sound like a crazy person when you post here! :P

...but that's what message boards are for.

I think he gave me an A because of my great looks and stellar personality! Just because one is Conservative, doesn't mean they are conservative in all things. :)

Then by all means, please post a pic of yourself!

Here is an interesting Kansas political tidbit to discuss. The previous four governors of Kansas (two Republican, two Democrat) have united against the current one's policies:

http://ksn.com/2016/06/24/former-kansas ... upporters/

"A letter signed Friday by Republicans Bill Graves and Mike Hayden and Democrats Kathleen Sebelius and John Carlin calls the upcoming elections the most important in Kansas history.

The letter says Kansans are starting to acknowledge that many of the wrong people are serving in state office, but adds that too many residents don’t understand the issues and will be vulnerable to misleading political campaigns."

I posted it a long time ago in the picture thread - so you will all just have to go searching if it is that important. But we already know what a dazzling personality I have! : - P

I'm guessing it is not just Kansans that vote on non issue basis.

Do you vote
A. Values
B. Party
C. Good hair
D. Education
E. Cultural arts
F. Flip a coin
G. That name sounds good
H. CNN
I. FOX
J. Spiritual leanings
K. Who your friends vote for
L. Who your family doesn't vote for.

"Mnopqrst..."

KC, KS or KC, MO?

That's why I'm not in Lawrence. The nursing part of the school is connected to the KU Hospital that is close to Johnson County and the rich Plaza. I'm also allergic to beer so you probably wouldn't catch me at the brewery. (Beer used to be my favorite drink though - with a straw! That's probably why I have an allergy now - cause I drank just too much of it. Darn. I can still remember how it tastes, too. Yum!)

I can't have alcohol because of my meds, except for Communion wine.

As for the transgender matter - There are transmen who now appear as male after surgery and introduction of hormones. Are they to use the women's room? What of the trans women whose very lives could be in jeopardy were they to walk into a men's room filled with violent rednecks?

the people who are pushing for these punitive bills deem these things as a FEATURE and not a bug. their goal seems to be punishment of the square pegs who will not remodel themselves into the circle of conformity. if some trans-person gets f-ed up by some bigoted thug, not a problem for these righties. they are trying to force trans people to not be trans people, trying to force gays to become straight. it won't work. the righties are just making bad karma for themselves, is all.

In fact, I suspect a lot of righties want trans people to suffer physical abuse and death.

Are we back on this crap again? Why don't you worry about your own state and stay out of Kansas business. Like I said, SECESSION would take care of all of this then I wouldn't have to listen to you two biatchin like a couple of old women.

I am a conservative.

In my job I work with many folks from assorted lifestyles. Some I'm aware of some in not

I give them within my knowledge help, hope, healing and compassion.

I am glad, when I find some of the same here on WP.

Shalom
