Are there any defectors, people ask.
How do you promote a builder, who never drives a single rivet, expecting him to have objective morality.
How do you explain the likes of Richard Spencer? You know, the guy who had ended a racist rant a Trump victory rally, with: "Hail Trump! Hail our people! Hail victory!"
That last is English for "Sieg Heil."
Sounds like chauvinistic whites to me.

The highest priority is the economy. Besides, in light of other US military action, including during the Obama administration, this Tomahawking of some Syrian airbase is consistent with past military action and not that that big of a deal.

Well, Trump should listen to the ghost of Lyndon Johnson, who had wanted to work on the economy with The Great Society, as well as civil rights, but kept getting pulled off track by that little problem in Vietnam. Foreign policy tends to make trouble like that, especially when you fire Tomahawks into a sovereign country, with the apparent expectation that there wouldn't be any consequences for it.

When did I make a moral judgement about Trump's attack on Syria? My point is, foreign policy, especially it involves armed hostilities, quickly and irretrievably overshadows domestic policy.

Two U.S. warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired 59 Tomahawk missiles intended for a single target — Ash Sha'irat in Homs province in western Syria, the officials said. That's the airfield from which the United States believes the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fired the banned weapons.
There was no immediate word on casualties. U.S. officials told NBC News that people were not targeted and that aircraft and infrastructure at the site were hit, including the runway and gas fuel pumps.

interesting....very interesting indeed, guess they didn't indiscriminately bomb the area. I just, since when does trump care about Syrians? Wasn't he trying to ban Syrian refugees coming to america?
In 2013, he condemmed Obama for bombing Syria, strange now he is doing it.
See I almost feel like this action is the one I hate him least for...I mean if he really did bomb that base because he wanted to retaliate against people being chemical weaponed to death by terrorists I can somewhat respect it even if it was reckless. But at this point I still don't know if his little speech about it was from the heart or if this is some kind of con trick or he was fed the lines to say by other government people who pressured him to do it or something.
But I find it interesting that supporters are deserting him like the plague over the one thing that I think may have been the most well intentioned thing he's done so far...provided it was really over the chemical weapons attack, and not some kind of scam. The trouble is trying to figure out which it is...I mean did he have some kind of revelation and realize he may have criticized obama a bit rashly, or is this just another of the businessman tricks up his sleeve?

In the age of predator drones and smart bombs, it seems an odd choice to use technology from the 80s. Low flying, slow moving cruise missiles.
Maybe to preserve the predator drones and smart bombs...or something like that.

My gut feeling says President Trump is right on what he did in Syria.
I would surmise that his decision was both from the heart and wanting to do the right thing ...
and that it was at the same time a decision based on strategy.
I would say to those on the right who would desert Trump over this
to give this situation a little more time, research, and thought.

Well all I know are the days are over when a King would ride into battle with his army. Now we have politicians who sit and push buttons like a game and everyone else suffers for it.
The world is crap anyways. We have two options. Either a huge disaster breaks out, either by human or natural causes, shocking us into a huge recovery effort or destroys our civilization all together, where we'd be forced to solve these problems and we'd have to fight to the last man till every foreign power is on US soil, or we can fix our ways now and make a slow but steady recovery to peace in the world, with occasional mishaps, but then we'd need to put a huge effort on actual recovery efforts in these countries and we'd need to discover more about psychology and political organization to properly rehabilitate these war exhausted regions.
This is complicated. I want to move to a small isolated country where I'd have access to a world scene but I can feel safe, something like Sweden, Bhutan, or Papua New Guinea. I don't even know what to think anymore.

"America First" my tookus. Thus far, Trump has met with the leaders from many countries, including Canada, Germany, the UK, China, France, Denmark, Jordan, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Argentina, Mexico, India, Qatar and several others. He's embroiled himself in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as the ongoing China-Taiwan conflict.
Just this past week he intervened in the Syrian civil war and ordered several warships towards North Korea.
The southern US wall is on hold and he's failed trying to remove Obamacare.
So now his core supporters are jumping ship because they're feeling betrayed.
America is just too huge, too ingrained in the world economy, to be self-centered.
And, of course, Breitbart is not amused. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... rica-last/

"America first" is a campaign slogan meant to swoon those who are easily swooned. The proof is in the pudding and we won't actually be getting a taste of it for a few years yet. It's going to be about the US economy.
