I just watched a Washingrton Post blurb and the spokesperson is saying Trump allegedly said this to lawmakers.

Is this yet another one of these claims that can't be pinned down? Is there anyone with a name saying they heard Trump say this in person? Who reported this to the Washington Post, another anonymous source?

They are just saying it was leaked from someone who was at the meeting.

Senator Dick Durbin (D) has stepped up to the plate.

Deep Question: Is Trump ever going to call Saudi Arabia a s**thole? Is he ever going to tell them to go back to their huts?

Of course not.

Apparently, Trump likes brown Muslims more than Black Christians ... or maybe this is just about money.

Remember we don't know if Trump said it, but as I said earlier, if he did, the reasoning is flawed as he's talking wealth not culture.

What does he have against poor immigrants?

Doesn't he love people who are poorly educated? He said so himself.

Simple Trump logic, he sees poor countries and sees losers, he sees wealthy countries and sees winners.

There's no evidence he said this, but for argument's sake let's imagine he did.

For one, Haiti is a sh*t hole!! Not because of race, but because of economic policies and thanks to the Clinton Foundation robbing them. Dominican Republic is right next to Haiti and they do fine. Any country in South America that's a s**t hole is because the US have robbed the country blind. And African countries because of preditory loans. The people who have jumped on him for being this are desperate and racist themselves for assuming he was talking about race. Could easily say the same about Eastern European countries.

Nah.

He sees rich people and sees winners. He clearly doesn't care about the people who voted for him.

After two and a half years this is utterly predictable. Rinse, Wash, and Repeat. What disincentives are there for him to stop?

Maybe 60 percent of Americans are outraged, the rest of the country is applauding.

Of course he has the right to say it. That does not mean he should.

It's the Left that makes it OK. The Left believes they can say whatever the hell they want ever since Obama was elected - calling the Right Nazis, bigots and racists and then proceed to call our current President names, using foul language and showing complete disrespect for the office of the President. But I guess that's just fine as long as the Left acts in that fashion.

You know why this is no big deal? Because the Right is damn tired of the Left getting away with crap. I'm so sick to my stomach of listening to A-holes like De Niro go off on our President and the Left just laughs and applauds. You know what? I'm laughing and applauding now at everything that Trump says that the media and the Left go nuts over - what Mr. R. calls butt-hurt. I hope Trump keeps talking like this - I'll make sure to vote for him again just for that reason. The Left is just jealous of Trumps "triumphs".

People who don't want to be called Nazis, bigots, and racists shouldn't act like they are.
John McCain, a Republican, is clearly not a racist, but a Republican like Steven Miller clearly is (funny, considering that the rest of the Alt Right would string him up for being Jewish).
As there have been people on the right who had attacked Obama as a communist and radical Muslim (which he clearly isn't), I think what's good for the goose is good for the gander in regard to the world's greatest living actor, Robert De Niro, criticizing Trump.
By the way, when your ancestors had come to America long ago, very likely someone already here described where your people were from as a $hithole, and had wanted to keep them out.

Are you serious? McCain is probably the most racist politician in the US. He sung about bombing Iran and has pushed for wars that have killed over a million brown people.

I already explained why Trump is a racist. He is a right-winger who ignores the black right-wingers in the third world. I stand by that.

A lot of people don't realize that third world countries contain many of the same political divisions that exist in the West. Many African countries are essentially ruled by Christian conservatism ... but American conservatives often don't know much about the outside world and so they see the Christian conservatism in the third world and think of it as mere "primitive Christianity". When we fight, it's manly. When they fight, it's barbaric. We look at our capitalism and only see the towers. We look at their capitalism and only see the slums. We see an American with a gun and assume he's responsible gun owner. We see an African with a gun and assume he is going to shoot innocent people with it.

We can't fully understand global politics until we acknowledge that many third world countries are conservative by our own definition of the term ... though that kinda makes conservatism look bad.

You are right about Western imperialism though. Thanks for mentioning Clinton. We need to make sure American liberals never trust the Clintons again. They're false prophets.

I don't think Trump is racist.

And I wish instead of the media going on another witch-hunt, that instead, someone would go and get a mic and a cameraman and go and talk to Trump and get his take on it so the World can see.

Seriously, the man loves to talk. It would be so easy just to let him. He digs himself into holes plenty of times without having to resort to stuff like this. If he really did say the s**tholes comment, even without saying it again, he'd probably still shoot himself in the foot.

I would be quite interested to see what he had to say about immigration if given a chance to talk about it for a good length of time with a competent interviewer who would ask good, searching questions without actively trying to trip him up.

Trump Calls Non-White Countries "s**tholes"

Image

well, of course he did.

And now people are defending it.

Image

He isn't well, he needs help. As will we all, before this is resolved.

He is suffering from some kind of degenerative disorder and as the disease progresses, he regresses. Normalizing this because he happens to be in a position of power is hugely dysfunctional. (Unfortunately, Reagan set a precedent for this.)

Also, he worked not only in the private sector, but in the family business subset of that sector. I've worked in the public, private, AND family business private sectors. They are VERY different (duh). Family businesses are often just slush funds for the scion, after a generation or two, until they go under, or are sold off. The scion has rarely been expected to meet even minimum standards of professionalism and can't do it even if his life depends on it.

Why are we expecting a pampered trust fund baby to behave like a statesman in his twilight years? He can't. He's never been required to.

His most recent on-the-record interviews (NYT, WSJ) reveal serious cognitive issues. As his illness progresses, he will become more irritable, more impatient, angrier, more likely to resort to violence - that is why dementia patients typically have to move from home care to memory care and finally to a locked ward.

It's tragic, but the greater tragedy is that nobody seems to have the guts to address it constructively.

In order to illustrate my point even further, I will now compare Trump to Norway and Haiti.

Trump has a macho complex. Which country has more machismo in its culture? Haiti!
Trump hates political correctness. Which country has less political correctness in its culture? Haiti!
Trump is a Christian. Which country is more Christian? Haiti!
Trump is a capitalist. Which country is more capitalist? Haiti!
Trump is traditional. Which country is more traditional? Haiti!
Trump is white. Which country is whiter? Norway.

Huh.

Many Americans would say Norway is the "s**thole" because of the high taxes.

...Which is a stupid thing to say about anywhere.

Every transgression is hearsay to the 'alt right' unless it furthers their agendas or originates from the left.

I don't really care what Trump says; only what he does. I care about the repeal of Net Neutrality. I care about the privatization of federally protected lands. I care about the continuation of neoliberal policies that benefit only the billionaire class.

While the corporate media continues to focus on whatever verbal diarrhea emanates from his buffoonish face, the real damage is being done in Congress. I'd like to see some real journalism being performed in this country, not this ridiculous circus that passes for news.

That doesn't make him racist. You can't prove why he ignores. He's probably just ignorant of most of that stuff.

When people go insane about Trump possibly saying something "racist" but are spechless about mass murder of brown people across the world, there isn't much hope.

Any evidence he said it? Oh wait, no, there is none.

You're against racism allegedly but are happy with ageism. As the whole Russia nonsense is dying out they are now going for Trump not being fit mentally to be President. They can't let it go and face they lost the election because they put up the worst candidate in history against him.
