March For Our Lives
Opposing opinions is now trolling
No, posting photoshopped images that you know have been altered and making inflammatory statements like mocking children for the sake of being as offensive as possible and then acting like a child instead of presenting an actual argument is trolling. Right down to the "dank memes".

Those kids started this movement on their own accord and are using their voices to demand change in America because they're sick of being shot and killed. It really is that simple.

What actual argument have you made, other then emotional input and bashing law abiding Americans? I never denied these images are photoshopped, but only a interpretation as we gun owners see fit. So it's okay to shame gun owners, just not the other way around... It's truly interesting, almost like history is repeating it's self.

All the donated charted jets from Delta and the Patriots. Celebrity endorsements, scripted media interviews. They are clearly being pushed and couched by deep pockets. They didn't start this movement entirely on their own and had lots of help and professional organization along the way; whether they admit it or not.

Why are you, as a responsible gun owner, bashing kids who are protesting for their right to stay alive while attending classes rather than bashing irresponsible gun owners & sellers who've created this situation?
The kids started it. Others have rallied behind them in support. It's well known that March For Our Lives has a highly educated adult board of directors and deep pockets due to the donations of many citizens as well as high profile celebrities.

Why are you, and many on this forum members constantly attacking responsible gun owners? Why are dealers to blame? They run all firearms sales through NICS and some have denied transactions because they didn't feel comfortable with the buyer, even if they pass background checks. The problem isn't with them, they follow the law and are frequently audited by the ATF. The problem lies within the courts and allowing violent criminals to plea down to a misdemeanor (with time served) allowing them to still legally purchase a firearm when released. Next would be mental health facilities not reporting people who are involuntarily committed or deemed mentally unfit to the state (some, not all states fail to do this). Laws are already in the books, but we don't use them or become very relaxed. But that's not what you or anyone else is interested in, because it's not a ban on guns. It's hard to talk gun control (not that I would support it) when you see s**t like this...
The shooter was visited by police 39 times leading up to the event.
Family and teachers had identified him as a threat to other students.
Family allowed him access to guns in their house.
The shooter claimed that he was "going to be a professional school shooter" and the FBI was warned and did nothing.
There were several deputies outside the school during the shooting taking a knee.
So many directions to the point the finger other then guns. These issues need to be addressed first.

I've never attacked a responsible gun owner, or seller and I've let it be known in multiple threads that I don't support a total gun ban - only reasonable gun control and, ideally, a cultural shift away from being armed to the teeth.
So if you believe that the problem is the courts & mental health facilities, why are you not blaming them for this fiasco instead of bashing young people who are protesting for their right to go to school without constant fear of being shot and killed due to the gun culture and lack of gun control in your country? How does trying to discount the valid arguments of survivors of gun violence in any way productive towards resolving the flaws in your courts & mental health services that you state are the root of America's gun violence problem? Why are you not advocating for existing laws to be better enforced instead of trying to make light of the fact that these high schooler's friends were murdered and they've had enough of adults' lack of will to do anything to better the situation?
So then why aren't you pointing your finger at any of those valid concerns rather than insulting the survivors of a school shooting who are doing their best to draw attention to all of these concerns? You'd think you'd be on their side if you're legitimately a responsible gun owner who doesn't like seeing gun crimes paint all gun owners with the same bad brush.

This is true & I just asked SH90 why he's not pointing the finger at LEO's or courts etc.
But at the same time, I think it's reasonable that LEO's be expected to interject in domestic disputes, fist fights over Chevies & Fords etc, but pretty unreasonable for them to be expected to have to constantly deal with nutter citizens armed with AR-15's because it's so ridiculously easy for them to be obtained by almost anyone in America. That's why these people are protesting for legislators to take things a further step up the cause and effect chain and implement some sort of sensible gun control measures for the public safety, as it's plain as day that what exists now is not effective.

Sure you have on multiple occasions, even in this thread... But you are not the worse offender, not the one who has PMed me calling me a a**hole terrorist.
Who cares if I have one gun or dozens. It's my property, I paid for them and enjoy them responsibly. But many of the guns I own, for lawful purposes. You want to confiscate in the name of gun control.
I have and do. But this discussion is about the march, which is for extreme gun control and not the lack of prosecution or our weak mental health faculties; that many on the left deemed both cruel and unusual punishment.
Again I do, but more on a local scale. I have had numerous phones calls and sit down over coffee with my state rep. I have had conversations over games of poker with the mayor. I have wrote countless letters. There is other ways of advocating in our country.
I am not going to side with someone who calls me terrorist or other insults. I will not stand with someone who wants to s**t all over the Constitution and take my rights away, nor would I expect anyone else to do so. Just because I don't stand with the victims on gun control, doesn't mean I don't feel for them. But if they want to alienate the nation, then I don't give a s**t with what they have to say.

It's an order of magnitude greater risk than some gun toting school kid if that Trump decides warmongering with North Korea, China or Russia is not a zero sum game whereby the losses experienced by both sides means "end game" for all
But "hey" American voters already decided "let's take a punt on some crazy dude and give him the codes for launching nuclear weapons"
Oh diddums, are the bad commies trying to take your toys away?
Perhaps you can find another hobby...a tad bit of an exaggeration to claim it's the end of the world or trying to post images of Gonzalez ripping the US constitution...it's not a sacred cow like the NRA would have us believe
America has okay metal health faculties. People just can't afford them.
In order to solve the shooting problem, America either needs gun control, universal health care, or a combination of the two.
The billionaires will fight against universal health care every step of the way. Therefore, a good portion of Americans see gun control as the only viable option.
There are plenty of left-wing gun-crazy organisations, such as Redneck Revolt and the Huey P. Newton Gun Club.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redneck_Revolt
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huey_P._Newton_Gun_Club
I'm bringing this up because many responsible gun owners seem to side with the right-wing because of the gun issue alone ... and this attitude is completely senseless.
... but it's understandable because the corporate "liberals" have successfully hidden some sections of the left from the public eye for quite some time now.

Can anyone riddle me this. Gun laws were criticized for being too lax and allowing Cruz to use a legal gun. But my question is, what does it matter if he got the gun legally or not? Are his victims any less dead because he was allowed to have the gun he used? And don't tell me stricter laws would have stopped him from having a gun, because it is easy as hell to get it illegally.

I wonder what % of amuuurican gun owners position themselves far-right on social and economic metrics?* I suspect a vast majority.
*look upon the lower classes/working class as "degenerates" and [cynically] useful scapegoats
*opposition to labor unions
*anti-LGBT
*opposition to universal health care
*support exempting the upper class from all taxation
*anti-abortion/anti birth control
*support for corporate welfare with simultaneous opposition to social welfare
*tacit support for American-style fascism
The far right are still entrenched in regional USA. They have gone underground but are like sleeper cells. Many have prematurely awoke (i.e. Spencer and the Alt-right) sensing an opportunity when Trump won the election but most are in hiding waiting for a tipping point like the far right in Austria, France, Italy and Greece who are using dissatisfaction with immigration policies as a platform to emerge as alternate parties and claw support. Right wing marginalism won the day for UKIP when it mattered.
