It was postponed until October 3.

Yes, the Mango Mussolini wants to bring forth his reminder that he controls the cellphone that you "own" closer to the November 6th election, as he readies his "Presidential Alert" for actual use should the Dems win.

Just 34 days after 3 October.

I suspect they'll move the alert up again -- maybe to late October. They have no idea how long the subliminal messages they'll be injecting to Americans brains will endure. The science is still in it's infancy.

October 31st would be appropriate. :skull:

Democratic gains combined with Republicans who loathe the president could stifle him quite nicely.

Doubtlessly.

It is happening today!

A nationwide wireless emergency test is scheduled to take place Wednesday afternoon, as the Federal Emergency Management Agency conducts its first "presidential alert."

Roughly 225 million electronic devices across the U.S. will sound off at 2:18 p.m. ET for a “Presidential Alert” that will read: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed."

I suspect this will be a nothingburger. That is my vote.

Nothingburger
Etymology: Metaphorical use of a burger missing a patty (compare Where's the beef?), coined by Hollywood movie columnist Louella Parsons and first used in her daily gossip column "Louella's Move-Go-'Round" of June 1, 1953.
Noun: Something of less importance than its treatment suggests.
Adjective: Bland or unremarkable in appearance.

May I hang out in your bunker, jimmy m?

I have no cell phone (but I do have a couple firearms), so maybe YouTube.com will broadcast it all live to my computer. I imagine it will sound very whiny and entitled, much like its creator.

Thanks for the heads up, jimmy m. I'll make sure to switch off my phone at least 15 minutes for the scheduled alert.

Also note that there will be simultaneous television broadcast and radio alert. The alert may also affect smartwatches.

I'll just hide under the bed until dark, then.

These are my initial observation of the test.

A few minutes prior to 2:20 pm, I turned on my TV to local station Channel 10 and then I took my go-phone outside and turned it on and tried to find a spot where I could receive one bar of reception.

At 2:19 my go-phone received the following text message "Emergency alert: THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No Action is needed. Type Presidential Alert"
I clicked OK and then at 2:20, I received the same message again.
My go-phone is not set up to receive text messages. So I find it interesting that I received this message.

My landline phone did not receive any alerts. My emails did not receive any email alerts.

The television station was on Channel 10 which was had the program "The Talk". The panel of 5 women had their phones out waiting for the test alert message. They finally started receiving these messages on their phone. They commented that the audio ring was not particularly loud, nor did they seem to receive vibration. Many in the audience held up their phones to show they had also received the test alert message.

At around 2:21, the television displayed a scrolling alert along the top of the screen with a buzzing audio alert which read, "THE PRIMARY ENTRY POINT EAS SYSTEM has issued A NATIONAL PERIODIC TEST for the following counties or areas: United States; at 2:20 PM on OCT 3, 2018 Effective until 2:50 PM. Message from WTHITV.1" This was then followed by an audio reading of an alert. "This is a test of the National Emergency Alert System. This system was developed by broadcast and cable operators in voluntary cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Communication Commission and local authorities to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. If this had been an actual emergency, an official message would have followed. The tone alert you heard at the start of this message. A similar wireless emergency alert text message has been sent out to all cell phones in the nation. Some cell phones will receive the message, others will not. No action is required."

Stupid freaking Trump and his stupid buttons. Can I sue the Pissident for harassment now since I didn’t want his call? (Last part was a joke... kinda... love to but know there’s no case)

You could even have a cell phone, and be out of it just by turning it off after two pm today.

If you own a smartphone doesn't it already come with spyware preinstalled? The real question is who has more dic pics, Putin or Trump?

Whichever one actually has something "down there" to take a photograph of...
