I've heard told otherwise.

What, colon cancer and pneumonia, or the Democrats?

The latter.

Well, the Dems went from the party courting racists and segregationists to the champion of civil rights. Seems pretty redeemable to me, especially since the GOP went from freeing the slaves and Radical Reconstruction to the opposite direction.

Meanwhile the democrats work on removing civil liberties continues. The kind of equality they seem to really be striving for is everyone under their boot.

Now we're seeing little kids as young as 5 years old being arrested as a result of their whole political correctness, zero tolerance, everything is a crime agenda.

According to right wing propaganda sources. How are any of us under the boot of liberals? Because businesses can't so easily get away with discriminating in hiring and pay? Sure political correctness has often gone overboard, but it's hardly the law of the land.

I don't tune into right wing propaganda sources. I have been able to see what is up for myself and draw my own conclusions. Ever see THX 1138? that is the kind of world you're asking for.

Uh..., that's a movie. It's not real.

Oh please, fictonal social comentary pieces are used all the time to make a point, like the number of times you've brought up the works of Ayn Rand among others. But you're playing Bluto again it seems

No, I just criticize Rand for being a hateful bat who had a wide on for a psychotic killer years before. The only thing I've ever said about her fiction was that her writing sucks.

Oh good grief. Trying to have an ontrack conversation with you is like herding cats sometimes. Maybe you are sleep deprived and inebriated again as you seem to often say is your condition. As much as I dislike making things personal, you might want to look into the correlation between alcohol consumption and insomnia.

It's spelled "grief."
You brought up Rand, so I gave you my take on her.
I'm a writer. There are legions of men and women involved in my art who are drunk and sleep deprived.

Uh oh the spelling poice. If you look at it again you'll see I corrected the typo before you said anything about it. You have brought up Rand and many other authors and their works regarding social comentary. Just like I brought up a movie regarding social comentary. Now I know why liberals and democrats put so much emphasis on the arts.

^ Are we talking learning disability? I don't agree with a lot of your political views, but you're , without a doubt , a clever person.

I can relate to the dyspraxia and dysgraphia. I come from a generation where such things were less likely to be diagnosed in your childhood years ,but definitely have symptoms that indicate both apply to me .

In your generation I probably would have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

I was tested at Great Ormond street, London for the S word c1962-1963 when I was 5 or 6. That was because my first school in Bangkok had some concerns about me . The tests came back negative for it . Other possibilities were not explored.

Things may not be as good as they could be nowadays, with regard to such things, but they are a lot better than they were when I was a young child/teenager .

I was originally diagnosed as being a vegetable for the most part. In the 60s they probably would have insisted that I be committed to a mental hospital. I don't know what the S word means.

I see nothing wrong with emphasis on the Arts. I’m a writer myself.

I was thought to be a vegetable, too.

My remark was in regard to legions of drunk sleep deprived people.

I also am a writer. You read some of my work sometime ago. I believe you compared me to Melville.

Charles Bukowski was sort of like that (a drunk, sleep-deprived person who believed in the Arts)----or at least his character in the movie "Barfly."

Melville was a man who really got into the details of his settings (e.g., a living room in a house). He also made use of lots of psychological realism, a stunning amount for a writer of the Victorian Era.

Melville had some commercial success early on----but as his writing became more "experimental," his success was severely compromised. He was also seen as being somewhat "eccentric" and difficult to deal with.

He was a respected writer---but a broke one----when he died.

Well I do not disbelieve in the arts. But if artists consist of legions of inebriated sleep deprived individuals, I can see why that might appeal to democrat politicians.
