In the corporate sector this is called Level 0 risk management

Or to quote Kung Fu Panda - "I thought there's no such thing as Level 0?" and Master Shifu looks at him and says "Well now there is"

So...they should try the Heimlich maneuver.
Set off a small nuke in the canal upstream, which would send a little tidal wave down the canal, which would cough it right out!
What could...possibly... go wrong?

Sounds like genius to me, Let's git 'er done!

U.S. Navy officials have pledged to send a team of experts, including engineers skilled in dredging operations, to help Egyptian officials dig out the ship. "The Egyptians want to do this themselves, we are just here to help them," a Pentagon official told Fox News. "We are there to advise in any capacity they desire."

Shouldn't the Egypt officials be more prepared for such urgencies?

These kinda an embarrassment for them, only one tiny excavator?

Its a big machine. But looks pathetically small in that picture. Like someone trying to fill the Grand Canyon with dirt by using a soup spoon.

Ya know, if I was in to being a graffiti artist & had the air fare to Egypt, & had enough cash on hand to bribe my way out of Egyptian jails, I go tag the Ever Given with "Whatever floats your boat" in like 4 story tall seafoam green letters.

Mmhmm - at a library in North Vancouver - approx 40 min highway drive away from home on a weekend w/ zero traffic.

Can't recall the last time I was at a public library.. maybe 30 years ago? Won't catch me in one of those stabby places!

Obvi someone with serious mental health issues. Definitely a shock for that part of town.. it's not exactly a low rent area where people with mental health problems congregate.

I do wonder if it's a bit of recent American events in the news spillover copycat type stuff.. sure, a knife vs gun, but still.. with headline news of mass shootings in the USA every day or two my guess is it triggers crazies to decide to do crazy things like this. Or maybe it was completely homegrown and had nothing at all to do with the daily stateside mass casualties.

Or could be a bit of both given the following,

Sgt. Frank Jang says one man is in custody, and that man has a criminal record.
