He could have easily taken an eye out if he started snorting and tossing his head.

There's only a few contexts in which you can wear that hat and not look like an as*hole.

The only place I can think of where you wouldn’t look like an idiot is at a music festival or a Wild West reenactment.

I am from part of the old Wild West (Kansas). He would still be referred as a nut there if he wore that around town. It might have fit in over a hundred years ago, but not now. Maybe that is different in Dodge City during festival days. It would make him look like he worked at their museum.

By the way, I think that they need to dull off the sharp points of the horns and force him to wear that everyday in prison. The horns can be used as handlebars. It will make him quite popular with the other prisoners.

Here we go again.

I was making a joke about the horns.
"Bulls" have horns, also.

Show should I tell Santa to forget about the Red Ryder 200-Shot Range-Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and just ask for a horny buffalo hat instead?

This.

It's really uncalled for and only reflects poorly on the person who thinks they're being funny.

And yet, it continues unabated.

I see. 8)

The problem here is the *seeming intent* of your comment, my good sir.

Go right ahead.  It was a prediction, not a joke.

Oh.
It came across as sanctimonious gloating, wishful thinking and pure schadenfreude, to me.
My mistake.

Go for both.

Many people on this forum - if not the majority - have various communication issues, especially about the unspoken parts of messages (like "obvious" assumptions and contexts).
Yes, I need to take my difficulty with contexts into account, too.

If American English is not your primary language, then it becomes even more difficult.  Take euphemistic phrases for bodily functions, for instance.  Some of the most pleasant-sounding phrases hide some of the most disgusting activities.

The funny thing is, magz's overall command of the English language is better than mine, especially in regard to grammar.
She is exceedingly competent in this regard.
The nuances "between the lines" communication is difficult for someone from a different culture, yes.
Autism is also a factor.
