So let's cut the BS

The conservatives don't like that Lizzo (a black woman) put her lips on the flute which desecrates "their" memory of Madsion.
They are framing their opposition over this act by saying they object to her twerking while she plays the flute.

In their little brains they don't want to admit that a black woman can also be a classically trained flutist. Instead they are playing to a false narrative she isn't the type of person who "deserves" this honour.

Evidence please.

How is this story any different than people objecting to Kim K wearing the Monroe dress and potentially damaging it?

meh, a person played a fancy flute...cool for them, whatever I don't really care. A lot of MAGAs care a lot about it but with all the stuff going on in the world forgive me if I don't give a crap who played the crystal flute.

I think you're telling on yourself here. Why would anyone think that?

There's a strong patriotic streak that runs through a lot of Americans who stake their pride/lineage on American history. Let's not pretend otherwise.

It's interesting how anything made up about "MAGAs" is viewed a reality. They're already pretty much mythological considering probably no one seriously calls themselves a "MAGA".

Nah usually just at our conventions, secret meetings and cult rituals. October is of course a sacred time for us.

I’ve never actually seen anybody wear a MAGA hat in person.

I feel like there are people from other countries who haven’t been to the US—but feel they can generalize about Americans.

I am aware that not all Australians are bogans. And not all speak with the Crocodile Dundee accent. And I know they hate it when people think they drink Fosters.

I’ve only seen a few MAGA hats and none recently. Not many Trump 2024 sign either.
There used to be a home that had plenty of Trump signage but all that came down after Jan 6.The owner was a military lifer and I guess the insurrection changed their mind.

I think I've seen one maga hat irl, but there aren't all that many die hard trump supporters in my neck of the woods. All the rest have been parody hats from the beach - I own two of them.. they say 'Make Wreck Naked Again'

There are likely some very trumpy regions of the USA where trump flags and things still fly, but it's not likely to see them in large cities full of educated people.

It's also quite likely that the image of magas is much bigger on the internet than they are in real life.. photos/videos from trump rallies and boat parades, memes etc shared online probably amplify the size of their so-called movement to appear to be larger than it really truly is. Such is marketing and the career long grift of donald j trump - puffing his chest and making his bank account appear larger than it is for deal making, tax saving, and fame purposes. Maybe maga is as big of a flop as his finances ??

I think it's kinda funny that some seem to think that criticisms of flute girl must be rooted in the preservation and protection of a sacred presidential flute and can't possibly be because she's a fat black woman. Mmmmhmmm.. totally believable.

How is that in any way connected to Lizzo playing Madison's flute?

Pretending is all you do.

I should totally start butting into every thread on the board spouting offensive stereotypes about Australians and insisting that they're all true and that I know Australia better than they do; I'm sure it would go over very well.
