Rewinding the conversation a bit, to the top; you did make an affirmation when you replied to my first comment on this thread on how I thought the comment a woman left on the site th OP posted was ridiculously stupid.

Let me refresh your memory on the affirmation you made:

You said that the 2-faced girl was not a goddess, only a sick child. Maybe the girl really is a reincarnation of Ganesh. Maybe here in the West we're seeing this how we want to see it. It could be, also, that this Ganesh reincarnated imperfectly and does indeed require medical help. Or does her deformity alone qualify her for worship?

I don't think the woman was thinking of Ganesh when she wrote the comment and I still don't think you were either, but what the hell.

Kind of like an Iguana, right? Being able to look at two different places at the same time...moving each pair of eyes simultaneously?
Now that I think about it, if she has one brain, or both of the brains are fused together, that may not be possible as there would only be one signal being sent to all four eyes to move, not two seperate signals. But she will still be-able to look at two different things at the same time, I think. That would be disorientating...

I hope this little girl survives and has a good life without any [or too many] health problems.

This may sound awful--- but she might grow up to have a very productive career in the adult entertainment industry. I won't say why, but i'll let you figure out why.

God forbid that she would suffer such a terrible fate! I wouldn't wish that on anyone. the sex industry particularly in countries like that is a very nasty place to be it destroys the women that get caught up in it. even in the states that is the case as well. and you can be sure that most of the money earned does not go to the people being exploited many times they are prisoners and have to pay off a huge debt on the pennies that they get left over to buy their freedom and many don't ever see that day or if they do there is not much left of them by that time.

I never said it was a good industry, but only that it may be productive for her--- probably mostly for the shock value. When Cheng and Eng came to the USA, they made enough money that they bought their freedom, bought land, got married and had kids and retired. The siseshow industry of yesteryear was often a cruel thing, but in Cheng and Eng's case it allowed them to make it big and end up better than other folks might have.
I simply figured that in the Indian girl's case, it might turn out the same if she chose to go down that path.

Her Indian heritage is her deliverance from being a sideshow freak. Born born as a Hindu avatar could indeed provide the child with a decent life. If this child were born as nobody special and without Hindu culture, a life of abuse in the sideshow would be a best-case scenario. And to those of you who suggest adult entertainment as a calling for this girl, I wag my finger. Shame on you!

Why they think it's a goddess I do not understand.

They beleve SHE is a goddess because the two-faced child is a goddess according to Hindu belief. Our failure to understand their culture isn't their problem. It's ours.

I think she is amazing from a purely biological standpoint--- since I am not religious, talk of goddesses and deities mean little to me. There was a bit of media coverage a few years ago concerning a kitten who was born with the same condition ( 2 faces), but it unfortunately died shortly after birth. I do hope she fares better--- though i do wonder about as she gets older. Which face are you supposed to talk to, or which eyes/face are people supposed to look at? Will one face be dominant? will she have two voices and speak "in stereo"?...

I have seen this situation before with cows, kittens, etc.
Unfortunately they don't survive very long.

Yes, there was a show on Animal Planet about deformities in animals. They shows a kitten and a pig with two faces. The pig's name was Ditto and he actually lived for a couple of years, which is unusually long for an animal with that malformation. According to the show, these animals typically die of aspiration-related causes, brought on by eating with one mouth while using another to breathe. I think it would be easy for a human to learn to avoid that problem.

i wonder if she can see out of all four eyes.. if so she has a HUGE advantage...
