Trump wants to deport people here for medical reasons.

Well, one can't be 100% objective. Facts, evidence, and data will always have some degree of bias. One has to eliminate as much bias as possible.

But, if a number of people have that pov and it simply grows and grows to a significant amount then wouldn't that determine that there could be something there? Do you get what I mean?

Let's talk about UFOs If more and more people every year are seeing them and more and more individual soldiers encounters them in their planes then something must be there. Do you understand the concept?

How about staying within the parameters of what I was replying to rather than going off on tangents. You commit a lot of logical fallacies such as setting up strawmen and moving the goalpost.

It is not a tangent nor is it a strawman if one is questioning the assumptions that create the parameters in the first place.

Is it that I go on a tangent or is it that a lot of people in society including yourself constrain yourselves to boxes. I think outside the box and question the assumptions that make up the box.

The problem with that claim is you appear to think very much inside the box when it comes to assessing others in the first place.

Well, let's assume I am. i do have theory of mind issues so it is possible you're right on this one. Will you explain further please?

"You conservatives always... [insert steriotype of conservatives]" Even if the person being addressed doesn't identify as a conservative.

I see what you are saying. I didn't get this.

Would this be better when I'm debating a concept?

"Conservatives I've encountered in my life both IRL and online have similar beliefs to the beliefs or "facts" you're espousing now. Here is why I think they are flawed. They're flawed b/c of A, B and C." A, B and C being the reasons they are flawed.

Would this be a better presentation and a better way to do it so I'm not (what's that phrase you use) setting up a straw man even if it is not my intention to set up a straw man?

That comes off as rather convoluted. Over complecated. Introducing too many factors. Too many variables.

A straw man is coming up with a scenario or assertion on your own to knock down. In other words you are not knocking down what that person said, but rather what you said that you are attributing to them.

It truly is disgusting, first I saw about it was in the disability community on reddit, anyways here's an article.

This is just barbaric.

lol This is wonderful. But there are some things you seem terribly confused about.

Firstly, deporting people that are disabled is something every nation in the world does. Fat people too. That is a good thing. Why would you want fat, disabled, rude, criminals in your country? WTH?

Trump is not doing this. He is only the President. The USA is a Republic. I don't know why so few people know that.

Also, the article mentions that these people are immigrants. But then it talks about them needing permission to stay in America and things like that. Immigrants can live in work in the USA for life. They need to special permission. It sounds like they are actually ILLEGAL ALIENS that sneaked in and broke a bunch of laws and committed a bunch of crimes.

It states that Trump wants to take welfare away from immigrants. Immigrants have never been able to collect welfare. I was an immigrant. So was my wife. And my parents. A ban a welfare is the reason one is required to secure a legal Financial Guarantor before immigrating. That has ALWAYS been a thing. And, Trump is not doing anything.

Additionally, what is "Latino" about breaking the law and stealing welfare? US law applies to all ethnicities.

Also, as it seems they are not immigrants at all, but illegal aliens, they DEFINITELY should not be on welfare! Why do you think WE should pay for illegal criminal foreigners to come to our country and receive free healthcare? When many of US do not qualify! I applied for healthcare for DECADES, before I could actually get it. Why should illegals get it?

It also says that Trump is separating families at the border. Again, not Trump. Customs and Border Patrol. The US Government. Not Trump. But it is not families. It is sick people trafficking child sex slaves. Do you mean to tell me that you support raping children?

Maybe "Trump" can start deporting some citizens that believe in breaking the law and hurting Americans?

Hope these people go back to where they are from and rot in Hell!    :skull:

Why would the world be in an uproar about this? Every country in the world has laws 10 times more strict!

Ok!

Here are the issues that I take with what you say.

1. The majority of the people here in our nation claim to be Bible believing Christians. There are many verses in their that admonish people to help the sick, the poor, the needy. Shouldn't our laws reflect true Christians values such as this? Yet, today's Christians scorn the needy and the poor.

2. The inscription on the statue of liberty's base says "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." If we're only going to take in the healthy, the more well to do, the skilled, etc then maybe we ought to send the statue of liberty back to France.

3. Another thing, when someone complains about the country whether we were born here or not we are always told to love it or leave it. If the world even has more restrictions as to who can come in and reside then how can one do this. Don't say this as a cop out when one complains.

The fact is, though, the rich aren't getting taxed like they should. But they aren't hiring more people, and those who are employed by them find their paychecks are not able to catch up to the cost of living. Since many of the rich and big business are raking in the cash without benefiting the rest of us, I have little sympathy for them. If anything, their the ones who are screwing over the people cleaning their floors.

Fact is the middle class (50-90%) is 15 trillion dollars richer than 30 years ago (1989) once you account for inflation per CNN's own piece on income inequality: Without inflation it's 22 trillion dollars.

On a per capita basis that works out to middle class people being on average $86,000 richer. For a family of 4 that's $344,000 more than 30 years ago after inflation and adjusted for population size. By the way there's 130 million people in that group.

I get tired of explaining this to you. People are not worse off than in the 1970s. To claim otherwise is to deny all the facts and evidence.

Less people today belong to the middle class. Wages are not keeping up with cost of living. The only way I can see out of this is if wages are either raised, or the cost of goods and services are lowered.

CNN defined the middle class in this case as a percentile of wealth, not an income ratio (as it is typically defined). This way it tracks the same section of America society.

By defining the middle class as an income ratio, growing inequality will always shrink it. However, if that inequality is that the rich are getting richer, but others aren't getting poorer than it's not actually a bad thing. For the record more people have moved to the upper class by these definitions than have dropped out of the lower class.

Your real wage myopia is causing you to disregard all the other data that shows that

1) People are earning more than they used to in real income.

2) People have more wealth than they used to in real assets.

3) Growing inequality has not made any segment of America society poorer.

I thought liberals liked facts, evidence and data.

I base this on my personal observations and experience, and I see the cost of living out stretching wages. Then there's the matter of people going bankrupt due to medical care, which should never happen in a country like ours.

The thing is reality is based on facts, evidence and data, not your personal observations and experience.

Thing is though, if we can find more and more people having similar personal observations and experiences isn't it something at least worth checking out? Maybe something is there to it.

And, facts, evidence and data can be biased as well as the interpretation of the facts, evidence and data.

Human perception is flawed and nostalgia is a powerful force. People like to believe that things were better back in the day.

Thing is people are not struggling more than they were 30 years ago. People just remember the good things from 30 years ago and forget about the bad.

It's like religious conservatives ranting about how immoral today's teens are, when today's teens are doing less drugs and having less premarital sex than 30 years ago.

I disagree. I have a perfect memory. And things were way better 30 years ago.

1. USA is not a theocracy. No ancient myths can be a basis for laws.
2. Statue of Liberty does not dictate legislation.
3. It is a fact. The US is way too weak and should be more strict about immigration.

No, most immigrants are not criminals, even if they are fat or disabled.
Yes, children are being separated from their parents at the border. No, those children are not being trafficked as prostitutes.
No, Trump is not doing all those things by himself, but those agencies who are simply are carrying out his policies. So, yes, in the long run it is Trump.
We're not just talking about welfare, but any sort of public assistance to feed one's family. How many immigrants had started not only with nothing but also took help from the government, and then went on to be successful? Many.

It's the right that wants to make America a theocracy. The rest of us just think our morality should be guided by the love and compassion taught by religion.
The Statue of Liberty speaks of our national ideals of empathy and kindness toward those who have nothing.
America is at its strictest with immigration only when nativism has sunk its evil claws into the national consciousness.

:skull:

1. USA is not a theocracy. No ancient myths can be a basis for laws.
2. Statue of Liberty does not dictate legislation.
3. It is a fact. The US is way too weak and should be more strict about immigration.

You missed my point.

1. Many Christians claim our nation was based upon Christian values. Yet, they ignore parts where the Bible says we're supposed to help the sick, needy, etc.

2. Then return the f*****g statue.

3. Our nation is hypocritical.

Many.

The article mistakenly called them immigrants. They actually are illegal aliens. And 100% of them are criminals.
lol What? Why are you supporting child rape?
No. Trump is only the president.
Immigrants have never qualified for welfare. Illegals should not get something that immigrants cannot get.

Why did you respond to me without first reading? So disgusting and annoying.

The point was you hate democracy and freedom? Well, that is too bad, isn't it?

Who cares what some wackos say? Who cares what an ancient myth says?
It's not mine.
Probably. Maybe you can be more specific?

Wrong. On both accounts.
Nope.
It is still WAY to weak.
