Sorry I haven’t been online to remind y’all as frequently as usual. I’m on a Celebrity cruise ship in Alaska rn for another week with limited data & reception. Such is floating hotel life for a couple weeks.

You coulda fooled me.

I haven’t been online nearly as much and probably closer to zero soon as data runs out and I only have a talk/text package whenever I get cell reception - which is fine; I’ve been keeping in touch with my favourite bundle of red flags via text anyways.

Literally at this moment I’m soaking in a rooftop 10th deck outdoor hot tub on the Celebrity Millennium sipping a glass of Diplomatico Venezuelan rum before I grab a snack, shower up, and head to the theatre for a comedian’s act at 9. 8)

I hadn't cared about this news but then one thing got me curious.

Is this all about the originals of documents? Why didn't Trump just take copies? Or return the originals when he was put on notice?

I asked the same question a while back. I'm sure you can imagine the kind of answers I got.

What if he made copies , mailed them out to his special friends, and kept the originals for himself?
I wonder if he left greasy fingerprints while he was shuffling through them and snacking on a Bigmac.

I heard it was the ketchup stains that gave him away.

Trump does a lot of things that don't really make sense, it's just part of who he is.

I’m on vacation - trump’s mental illness and poorly executed criming are just part of the non-stop entertainment. Ditto for his supporters defending him.

Variety is the spice of life.. comedy act, watch some song and dance number, have a martini, sip rum in a hot tub and check in on the orange guy for prison progress. Etc etc - they’re all entertaining.

Making copies would not have been any less illegal. It is having them in any form that is against the law. A president does not own any intellectual property, records, documents or work product from his time in office and is not supposed to keep any scrap of it.

Why he didn’t return the all the documents despite numerous asks and attempts at voluntary recovery is a mystery. The affidavit shows the attempt at recovery had been going on since January, lots of lawyers involved, and the warrant was a last ditch effort after exhausting every other avenue. Is it simply that he refused to accept he didn’t have legal ownership, or does he have some use in mind? Did he want to keep the content out of access by investigators? Or maybe he liked the visual of making the government come and get the documents, knowing it would rile up his base? Who knows.

Whatever floats your boat. I’m not going to judge your choices of entertainment, relaxation or obsession; I certainly don’t want anyone judging mine.

The part that leaves me with my jaw dropped is just how well the whole bundle of actions that make no sense to us all end up working in his favor in the end. We’re missing something, we know we are.

I really think the non-stop heavy breathing from his Democratic pursuers is part of it, they announced they were going to try and impeach him before he was even inaugurated, and it's been "we've got him this time!" every week ever since, and I think that has an effect on people, even within the justice system.

It is not legal but if copied on certain machines leaves no evidence.

Anyhow, Hillary Clinton for years had staff scan documents marked secret and send them via her private email service. It violated all the same laws, yet she didn't even get a slap on the wrist.

Her case has pretty much set the precedent for FBI.

Most likely he’s been playing us like a fiddle the whole time. Having Democrats go after him strengthens his base and he knew it would all along. That man can really read - and manipulate - people.

But, you're still going after him...

See, I think the man is basically a moron with a certain low cunning who happened to be in the right place at the right time, not some kind of master manipulator playing 4D chess with everyone, but his one trick seems to work on Democrats every single time even after you've seen it thousands of times before, it's kinda weird.
