If he was in jail what opportunity would he have and what good would it do him? Outside of jail he's an ex-president with secret service protection. The point of my satire is that he's not like a character out of the Sopranos. The Secret Service has ex-presidents under constant surveillance. And they're ready to use instant deadly force against any threat to a president.

You have to ask Trump. I doubt he thinks he can shaft these particular people like he's done to legitimate banks, employees, contractors, and business partners, regardless of secret service protection.

It's become a popular trend for people to come up with scenarios of what Trump did, or planned to do. And when it gets pointed out to them the scenario is unrealistic or has plot holes etc, they blame their own mistakes, oversights and plain lack of sense on Trump.

The only lack of sense or oversight these people had was trusting that Trump would pay them.
