The global tears for Palestinians may be perceived as an insult to the Uighers, Rohingya, Tamils, Yemeni and South Sudanese (to name a few) who have been largely ignored as scores of their people were killed and the perpatrators of their genocide have been permitted to flourish.
The Yemeni are in a civil war of their own making, which Saudis and Iran have turned into a proxy war between each other.
I don't even know who the Uighers, Rohingya, and Tamils are. Which means close to 99% of Americans don't either.
What changes about the greater world depending on events in Sudan? Effectively nothing. Almost nobody knows where Sudan is nor has any reason to care about the people there.
Contrast to Ukraine. Besides Ukrainian immigrant descendents in America and the fact that they're white Europeans (let's be realistic about what motivates a lot of people), Putin and Russia are a larger threat. If they conquered Ukraine someone else would be the next target. Regardless of what anytime thinks of Ukraine from an idealistic perspective, there are serious realpolitik concerns.
Israel-Palestine is wrapped up in international issues of Judaism. And many Americans who aren't wrapped up in supporting or hating Israel for being Jewish, or Palestine for being Muslim, are sick of the expectation that Israel must be supported because they're Jewish just like they're sick of the expectation that the Saudis must always be supported because they have oil. Lots of Americans pivoted from casual antisemitism to blindly supporting Jews in Israel because of Holocaust guilt and/or endtimes evangelical nonsense.
