Damaging story on ASD & child porn by Temple Grandin's m

Unbelievable, at the same time as Temple Grandin's mother quotes Tony Attwood as stating he has only once been able to stop an autistic boy from suiciding, she wants to assert that autistic men are more likely into child porn and rape.
She obviously did wonders for her daughter, but is undoing all that good by using her reputation to push her opinion and quite obvious dislike of autistic men.
I don't know what's wrong with that woman, but she clearly has an agenda against men, and has taken it upon herself to target the vulnerable, for anyone else it would be merely naivety, coming from her it's unforgivable.

What. The. f**k.

I am having difficulty seeing that article as being anything but malicious.

I understand the point she's making and the possibility of it, but she provides no evidence for its incidence.

She states the individual with an ASD will miss out on the early, preteen type of sexual journey; the beginnings, the "you show me yours and I'll show you mine" that she refers to. Hence, when the "adult" male starts to get interested, they go back to the beginning that they lacked -- it's different than the "normal" pedophile, but it's treated the same by the legal system.

Lorna Wing had a note on it in her original paper (the lady who named it Asperger's Syndrome and made it a label for all of us to have):

Utter garbage. I would post a long-winded rant about how awful the article is, but I don't think that either the article or the b***h from whom's arse it originated are worthy of the energy writing such a post would take.

I'd really like to hear what Temple Grandin has to say about this. As someone who has done so much good for the community, I imagine that she'd be pretty angry that her own mother is abusing her status to defame Autistic males.

When there is even speculation of ASD connected to a shooting we are suddenly mass murderers. I'm not surprised that someone would portray us as pedophiles but I didn't expect it from the mother of someone who has ASD. What happened to this woman to scramble her brain? Did she catch Temple blowing baby goats or something?

It's interesting that she's attacking autistic men, not autistic women... It could be a personal problem with an autistic man. Temple Grandin is famous. Maybe somebody got stalkery and her mom is reacting like this. Maybe an autistic man hurt her at some point and now she's blaming autism.

She starts her article saying this is down to one individual case and then stretches that to cover all men with AS.
