The only bachelor president ( his sister served as First Lady) was James Buchanan (the guy whom Lincoln took over from in 1861). I get the impression that he was the only president whom historians pretty much agree was gay.

A few years ago there was a fad of claiming that Lincoln himself was gay. But that seemed to come from the gay community more than from the historian community. The evidence presented looked pretty flimsy to me.

Basically: he is well liked today-therefore he must have been one of us!Thats the evidence! Both gays and aspies want to claim lincoln, but I doubt that he was either gay, or aspie.

...Like I said , maybe dead me, in a " old ex-homeless " SRO room , say (There is a paper called Tenderloin Spotlight or something here which writes about the memorial services for Tenderloin SRO denizens , it does not appear to be on-line - Central City Spotlight) ~ There , I actually said something beyond a repeat of " I'm sick , I might die , pity me please " , haaah ! :P
