The Shooter was a Muslim. What a surprise!

Image

18 year old Ali Sombali was a quiet guy, with no criminal record, and commited the act as revenge for his class mates bullying him, so he had planned this attack for up to a year, and became radicalised by the Anders Brevik killings which claimed 77 lives and fell on the 5 year anniversary.
He posed as Selina Akim to tempt young people into getting a free McDonalds and then carrying out the attack with his seven inch glock pistol.
Was German Iranian
Had been bullied for 'seven years' mainly about foreign descent
Injured 27 people, 16 seriously injured, 3 in a critical condition
10 dead (including the gunman)

Aaaaaand they're blaming violent videogames and guns now.

However, the gun was illegal anyway.

In most if these cases, islam doesn't seem to be the primary trigger. Rather bullying, xenophobia and psychiatric conditions.
I mean, these all aren't Paris.
The most terror-ish thing was for now the guy in Ansbach, who blew himself up (and injured 20).
So... These are so far your basic, crazy mass-murderers like you get two a day in the US, it just looks like they happen to be muslim

Seems like he got the pistol from da Darknet (Tor); which is kinda surprising, as you'd think all of the listings would be police trolling for bites. (Yes, firearm laws wouldn't have done a thing here.)

I figured he wouldn't have been able to acquire such through normal criminal channels, as being young and probably mentally ill doesn't make a predilection for those social circles.

Those Germans were just in the way:

"The Syrian man who blew himself up outside a bar in Ansbach vowed the people of Germany 'won't be able to sleep peacefully anymore' in a video filmed before the attack.

"Investigators said the suicide bomber, known only as Mohammad D., had declared loyalty to Islamic State in the recording - and announced 'a revenge act against Germans because they are standing in the way of Islam.'"

Meanwhile in Afghanistan
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/07/a ... 51899.html

The report, released by the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) on Monday, said there were 5,166 documented civilian casualties in the first half of 2016, an increase of four percent in total civilian casualties as compared to the first six months of 2015.

One-third of casualties between January and June were children, with 388 killed and 1,121 wounded, 18 percent more than in the first half of 2015, a figure the UN described as "alarming and shameful".

Not comparing the two as we all know German or French lives are worth far more than Afghans or Iraqis (we have become quite desensitized to reports of mass shootings in the middle east)

Was wondering about that, from what I know of German gun law, I doubt he would have been able to acquire one legally. I'm also surprised he actually got something from the dark web, I always figured the weapons listings were mostly scams, since guns are a lot harder to mail surreptitiously than drugs; they must have stripped it down and mailed it in pieces inside of something else.
