No, you need to have Gender Identity Disorder and you need that diagnoses. Unless you are good at faking it.

English was not my first language, but I've got Google, to learn new words and ideas --

Quote:
re·duc·tion·ism
riˈdəkSHəˌnizəm/
noun
derogatory
the practice of analyzing and describing a complex phenomenon in terms of phenomena that are held to represent a simpler or more fundamental level, especially when this is said to provide a sufficient explanation.

If I have to choose between reductionism and 63 8O genders...

reductionism

I have worked in customer service, and saw one hell of tranny. I think this guy might have been well over 6ft tall, without the platform shoes and beehive hairdo.

All of the "tolerant" people froze (except the guy that screamed.) It just did not compute. The other floor people had no way of processing it.

I was able to categorize this person, so dealt with him, civilly.

Using real life as my example, I'm guessing that many of you will have no way of dealing with these situations, when it comes down to that.

You're not going to see some dude in a poodle skirt, with scars from facial surgeries. You're gonna see a question mark, like when I talk about these things.

If it offends anyone, you can remove the profile. I am clearly spending too much time.

Facepalm. I mean you no wrong, and please don't hurt yourselves, out there. Probably your best advocate, for just being able to talk plainly.

Crossdressing is not straight and is going to raise questions with oblivious, ignorant, and innocent people.

People are expressing regrets, because of the permanence of surgery. Noone is telling them to say that.

You say by talking about stereotypes as if they represented reality you are "avoiding absurdity", but it seems that all you are actually avoiding is accuracy.

There also seems to be a lot of thinly-concealed contempt in your posts for anyone who doesn't fit the stereotypes you attribute to groups of people that are different from yourself that you don't understand. Perhaps if you knew yourself what point you were trying to make it would be more obvious to the rest of us. Or maybe you are being intentionally vague to avoid saying the overtly hateful things you would prefer to be saying but know that will get you banned. Probably it's the latter.

ETA: "Tranny" (and especially "one hell of a tranny") is not acceptable terminology, it's considered a slur. We have many transgender members on WrongPlanet so you should avoid using such slurs if you want to keep posting here.

Here is a legal precedent, which may be of interest, in this discussion:
http://www.itv.com/news/2016-04-08/fagg ... urts-rule/

"Hatefacts" are not considered phobic, when they are objectively true.

Possibly 6'5", without platform shoes or beehive hairdo.

I was not lovey-dovey or fake. I was courteous. I repeat, I am the only one who didn't freeze.

I can cope with the fact that it's a paraphilia -- a very conspicuous one, at that -- and go on with my life.

But, people under rigid speech controls have lost the ability to deal with life. Would you have known what to do? A dozen or so people were at a loss for words. They are short, simple words.

( :jester: Can you answer me, without using the letter 'e.' I find it offensive when other people use it, due to my personal insecurity, resulting from some childhood trauma. But, I find it empowering, when I am allowed to use it. Only me. )

If any of the transsex members would like to answer, who would you rather deal with. Someone, who is fairly, emotionally-flat, attentive to details, and just doing my job, or the people who screamed and hid.

Non-sjw's from whichever minority group get along with me, just fine, in a platonic sort of way. Just saying. :| 8)

But, you conspicuous ones stand to attract unwanted attention, from reactionary goons, toward the neurodiverse, racial, and religious minorities. Remember Niehmoller, and don't make me look decadent.

Are you French? That might explain some things.

I'm named after a Jewish shtetl.

I think that people can be different and have competing interests without calling for their genocide.

I am well informed of the opinions of other people, have not prevented anyone from commerce or the free marketplace of ideas.

imhblo, anyone can say anything, short of promoting property damage or the harm of another person.

That includes people like you, who disagree with me.

Which of 63 genders are you, and who is going to do anything about that. :|

I have friends and acquaintances in low places. I find that especially-experienced street people, people who have seen wars, violence, and death, are mainly concerned with whether I am out to get them. Nothing doing. Don't worry. It's just talking.

I can't actually tell if I disagree with you or not--your comments would need to be more coherent and way less vague for that to be possible. Your tone is really contemptuous and dismissive and doesn't encourage dialogue though, so I don't think dialogue is actually what you are looking for. My gender is in my signature (which is clearly legible in every single one of my comments) but I don't want to discuss it with someone like you. Enjoy your senseless ramblings, I'm out!

So were the actions of the people in prison,

Sweetleaf wrote:
I don't think you really understand how transgener works...its not people who just wake up one morning and decide they want to be the opposite gender. These people tend to have lived a life feeling very uncomfortable in their own skin...also there are a number of babies born that don't have a 'normal' sex but are assigned one but then once puberty hits it turns out they assigned them the wrong one. Its not really about being the gender they 'want'.

I admit I am ignorant on some of this topic, I have never really been around transgender people. Gay people yes, transgender not so much. I am not bothered by them and I made an effort to not offend anyone with this thread but at the very least you can see how I came to the OP.

You know I am more then likely wrong and will look like an idiot but when I read your post I felt an odd parallel between autistic and transgender people. I for one have never felt comfortable in my own skin, socially or otherwise so maybe I do understand on that front.

This has nothing to do with anything really, but I'd like to take this chance to point out that Islam is the only religion in the history of the world to officially support transgender identities and medical treatments. Go Islam, leading the way in social progress and better understanding of the human condition. 8)

Biblical history points to an interesting origin, for all the money we use today -- Coins were first whore tokens, intended to buy a sex act.

Said act may have been with a crossdresser, wearing a clay mask, if memory serves me well. A sex act, in honor of a foreign god, was meant as remission of sin and to secure providence, itself.

This is the meaning of some of the most notorious Bible verses, used against gays.

The sin of Sodom was that they sought after strange flesh. That's actually rendered, heteros, in the Greek -- that of a different order of beings. You see, they pursued the angels of heaven.

Completely separate issues, from bringing your paraphilia to church.

Please bear in mind, that my complaint is not that paraphilias do exist, so much as where they exist. It was a question of social boundaries and propriety. I mean, other kinds of kink could theoretically come to generic, family functions. It was a question of what the public has to endure, not the policing of bedrooms. Must your paraphernalia come to children's books, the grocery store, and our legal institutions.

Only because they are anti-gay, and they think gay men just want to be women.

Utter tosh - what exactly is the public forced to "endure", it's not like gay people have sex in public and force you to watch  I'm part of the public and nobody is making me "endure" anything because they are trans or gay. And by the way, "social boundaries and propriety" are subjective and vary widely from culture to culture and one individual to another. If yours don't match the society you're living in, you're free to seek out like minded people, instead of expecting others to change in order to accommodate your own preferences.

Don't you actually live in the UK? Do they sell sex toys or gay "paraphernalia" at the grocery store nowadays? 8O
