I was just thinking to myself that maybe the problem isn't that Trump is too dictatorial, but that he isn't dictatorial enough. Nothing is going to get accomplished with so many being able to throw a monkey wrench into the system. There might as well not even be a President.

If Obama's original ACA plan hadn't been interfered with so much, Trump wouldn't be in a situation of trying to make it a little more of what it was supposed to be in the first place.

What Commander-in-Chief? What Executive Orders? The President is just a figurehead like Queen Elizabeth. I don't know why anyone was afraid of what he might do, since it's obvious the POTUS has no real power to do anything. Except press the nuke button apparently.

Ryan was considered an establishment, neocon, RINO poser -- repackaging Obamacare.

ACHA was nicknamed Obamacare-lite and Obamacare 2.0.

Liberal interests falsely accused conservatives of failing, when Republicans saw it as a victory.

Perhaps you should take a look at dictatorships throughout history and current North Korea, then you may not be so fond of the idea of dictatorship.

The President of the United States is certainly no "figurehead" like Queen Elizabeth.

He wields real power--but it is modified (fortunately) by the "checks and balances" system as promulgated by the creators of the Constitution. The Legislative Branch (Congress) checks the power of the Executive Branch (the President). And the Judicial Branch (the courts) checks the excesses of both the other branches. And vice versa. They all "check" each other.

I have a problem when Trump is trying to influence the Judicial Branch. He is upsetting "checks and balances." This is what keeps our nation together, and prevents excesses of power. Even Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court had problems (i.e., when he referred to a judge as a "so-called judge")

I'm not worried about Trump influence upon Congress. Congress can take care of itself.

This attack on the judiciary didn't just begin with Trump. Newt Gingrich a few years back had boasted how he would haul judges in front of congress to explain their rulings, if elected to the White House. I suspect it goes back to the days when the rallying cry for conservatives was "Impeach Earl Warren," after his civil rights rulings.

I was thinking more along the lines of Trump's boss Vladdy. But I was just ranting/whining, because I want the US to have a really good health care system. And it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen with our system of government.

Attacks on the judiciary began as soon as the judiciary came into existence in this country, Trump is hardly unique in this regard.

I'm sure of that.

OMFG, how much longer are people going to repeat this lie? The ACA (or Obamacare, for the haters) is based on RomneyCare, which is based on a Heritage Foundation (read: NOT Marxist-Leninist) plan that was supposed to be the conservative alternative to single-payer. After how Brian Mast responded to my concerns, I'm going to call you what I now call him: a disabled ableist.

I've been beating that drum about Obamacare having it's origins with a Republican plan for years now, but I feel like I'm talking to a wall when it comes to the people who should really be listening.

ObamaCare might suck....but it is not based on Marxist/Leninist principles.

It's based open market, capitalistic concepts, with some concessions to government regulation.

How about a health care system based on something that works well?

The way I see it, you either pay lower taxes and get worse healthcare, or get better healthcare and pay higher taxes. I'm sure most Americans will not want to pay higher taxes. If good healthcare and low taxes are to co-exist, then I imagine many systems need to be restructured together, not just the healthcare system alone, because they all affect one another.

No, I'm saying the people who should be listening aren't.

It affected the business decisions of myself and other people, when the govt forced us to pay-in, to a speculative, financial bubble, because certain goods or services were not competitive, under a free market.
