well, of course he did.

And now people are defending it.

He isn't well, he needs help. As will we all, before this is resolved.

He is suffering from some kind of degenerative disorder and as the disease progresses, he regresses. Normalizing this because he happens to be in a position of power is hugely dysfunctional. (Unfortunately, Reagan set a precedent for this.)

Also, he worked not only in the private sector, but in the family business subset of that sector. I've worked in the public, private, AND family business private sectors. They are VERY different (duh). Family businesses are often just slush funds for the scion, after a generation or two, until they go under, or are sold off. The scion has rarely been expected to meet even minimum standards of professionalism and can't do it even if his life depends on it.

Why are we expecting a pampered trust fund baby to behave like a statesman in his twilight years? He can't. He's never been required to.

His most recent on-the-record interviews (NYT, WSJ) reveal serious cognitive issues. As his illness progresses, he will become more irritable, more impatient, angrier, more likely to resort to violence - that is why dementia patients typically have to move from home care to memory care and finally to a locked ward.

It's tragic, but the greater tragedy is that nobody seems to have the guts to address it constructively.

I agree completely - everything he has has been given to him. I'd say on a silver platter, but if you've looked at his decorating choices, plainly silver wouldn't be good enough.

He's not fit to serve. He was never fit to serve.

As the mother of an active duty service member, I deeply fear the consequences of this man's deep-seated ignorance and incompetence.

Any evidence he said it? Oh wait, no, there is none.

You're against racism allegedly but are happy with ageism. As the whole Russia nonsense is dying out they are now going for Trump not being fit mentally to be President. They can't let it go and face they lost the election because they put up the worst candidate in history against him.

The Russian investigation isn't nonsense, and it's not going away.
Hilary is probably the second worst Presidential candidate. The very worst won.

For one, Haiti is a sh*t hole!! Not because of race, but because of economic policies and thanks to the Clinton Foundation robbing them. Dominican Republic is right next to Haiti and they do fine. Any country in South America that's a s**t hole is because the US have robbed the country blind. And African countries because of preditory loans. The people who have jumped on him for being this are desperate and racist themselves for assuming he was talking about race. Could easily say the same about Eastern European countries.

It's not just racist that he called the countries where these people are from $hitholes, but because he made it clear he doesn't want them to come here.

His racist remarks tend to keep coming no matter what but, his jackass supporters just love him to bits, as they wished they could say the same things in public without being censured

"According to Dick Durbin (D-Ill), Trump had told a bipartisan group of lawmakers in the White House that he'd rather have more immigrants from Norway and fewer from "s**thole countries" in Africa and said the U.S. didn't need anymore people from Haiti. "I have seen the comments in the press, I have not read one of them that's inaccurate," Durbin, a Democrat, told reporters in Chicago.

"In the course of (Trump's) comments, he said things that were hate-filled, vile and racist," the Illinois senator said Friday. "l use those words advisingly, I understand how powerful they are. I cannot believe that in the history of the White House and that Oval Office any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard our president speak yesterday."

In a statement later Friday Durbin elaborated: "He used those words, and he used them repeatedly."

It is. As we saw with Flynn, it was more Israel-gate than anything, but we must not mention that. Na, dog sh*t was better than her. Trump's actions in Syria alone mean he's head and shoulders above that parasite. If she'd have won that place would have been Jihadi central. The hopeless and spineless puppet before that bombed 7 countries, tripled the war in Afghanistan, gave himself the right to drone bomb innocent civilians and bailed out banks with trillions of dollars. So it couldn't get any worse. Better to have someone rude and different from the others. Don't be scared of change.

OK in an imaginary world he said it. Why would he want people from Haiti to flood in? And don't give me that American dream tripe. He wouldn't want people from Serbia flooding in either I'd imagine. Even if everything you say is true, it's better than the alternative or what past Presidents have done.

Hmmm the counter-argument the trumpfans (and Trump himself) are hiding behind is there is no evidence he said those things

pretty flimsy counter-argument

In addition to democrat senator Durbin (who has no reason to concoct this story) we also have
republican senator Jeff Flake
whitehouse spokesperson Raj Shah who both corrobarated the racial content of Trump's speech to lawmakers regarding what to do about refugees

It's only a matter of time before a few more present among the US lawmakers admit Trump blurted those comments

In any case Leaders around the world spoke out in anger on Friday. Haiti summoned the American envoy to the country, El Salvador’s president lodged a diplomatic protest, and the UN’s spokesman on human rights told reporters “there is no other word one can use but racist.”

The damage is done...

None of that matters. Satan Cheeto is pure evil and must be impeached for collusion, or obstruction, or racism, or soda pop drinking. Something anything, it doesn't matter, just as long as it's something.

maybe Trump could give free blonde (or orange) hair transplants to Haitians so they look like Norwegians?

I suppose you have to be an American - or want to be one - in order to appreciate the American dream.
By the way, at one time plenty of Americans didn't want Irish or Italian immigrants coming to America, let alone Chinese or Japanese. Today, they're descendants are as American as anyone else. So will be the descendants of those Haitians, and those hypothetical Serbians.
As for your other post - I could address the matter of the Mueller investigation, but as it would only serve to derail the thread, I will not engage in it any further. There's more than enough red meat about Trump being a racist a$$hole as it is.

Latest...

African Union countries expressed outrage and demanded an apology on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly called African nations "s**thole" countries, the African Union Mission in Washington said in a statement.

"The African Union Mission condemns the comments in the strongest terms and demands a retraction of the comment as well as an apology to not only to the Africans but to all people of African descent around the globe," it said.

Some people are so easily triggered. Newsflash: Those countries ARE s**tholes! I'm so glad I don't live in any of them. How about you? Would YOU like to live in Haiti, or anywhere in Africa? I know I wouldn't.
