What does that have to do with Warren writing American Indian as her race on a legal document?


She considered herself a Native American, apparently, which was something she seems to have taken great pride in, and identified with.

You might want to be careful with that. The_Walrus told John Powell that whoever told him to get laid the last time was breaking the rules and was subject to receiving a warning.

I don't know who else uses such nomenclature but me, and I had never received such a warning after telling Powell just that in the past.

She wasn't 10 years old when she wrote down her race as American Indian on a legal document. She knew as much about it as the rest of the adults her family. She knew that neither of her parents were an American Indian. Or her grandparents or great-grandparents or great-great grandparents and so on. She knew that she is not an American Indian.

I think you said you are of German extraction. Is that based on stories your family told you or because you come from a long line of those of German extraction?

I know that my dad, grandfather and grandmother (his wife) and their parents are/were mainly of Swiss extraction. That's how know I am basically half Swiss. And likwise how my cousin knows on his dad's side of the family that he is half Japanese.

Defending a person's lies on top of lies just because they are tribal to a party is utterly pathetic.

For what it's worth, I casually mentioned in conversation to my supervisor at a new job while sitting in her office that I had Native American ancestors about five or six generations back. She immediately took a pen to my employment form and changed my race on the form to Native American.

I assume that she did so because it looked better on their records.

Let me put it another way, I do not see any reason why as an intelligent well educated adult she would not have known the difference between having an American Indian ancestor and actually being an American Indian. She should have known better.
