If this was intended as a stimulus then it would have made more sense to delay it until it is safe to re-open the economy.  Then it would probably pay for itself.  If it is intended to help people survive then that’s another matter. Important goal but it won’t pay for itself.
It was intended as a bribe for people to vote for Trump; that's why it's his name on the checks.

All this stimulus stuff will certainly add to our National Debt.

This is not borrowed money.

This money is just created.

All money created in our fiat currency systems is borrowed. Federal governments pay interest on all money created by central banks - which are no longer owned by governments; they’re private for profit businesses owned by the Rothschild family all over the world. The US Federal Reserve is not a government owned bank. It’s where the United States goes to borrow more money via it’s creation.

They make the paper that's used to print the money not far from where I live.

There is no productivity backing it.

Creating money and calling it "borrowed" is an accounting trick.

So, are you saying that the $$$ will be borrowed?

I have only a middling understanding of our financial system; the short answer would be yes. The longer answers were addressed by other posters above.

Pretty sure he’s going to have to buy 1200 chocolate bars, then convert them to 120 packs of smokes, throw them over a fence, and then someone’s gonna have to sell them on a street corner. Might incur some currency exchange losses in the process.. but that’s probably the only way anyone’s getting money out of a jail commissary account.

Picking it up Friday no problem.
They just fill out a form and specify amount and who to.

I checked the status of any check I'd receive and it says status not available. I then went to FAQ to see what the reasons are for that response and it says if your 2019 taxes aren't filed yet is one reason. Correct: my tax preparer hasn't filed my 2019 taxes yet since the deadline was extended. So...that means no check for me if was getting one then I guess?

If anyone doesn't have a need for their stimulus check, I'll take it.

Just putting it out there. 8)

Magna:

I heard if you put your address in caps—that you will be deemed eligible.

I got the same message as you for a long time. Then I was deemed eligible.

Does your address have a dash in it—or anything unusual?

My address has a dash. When I entered my address without a dash, I was able to get info.

You both will get your stimulus check. I’m also thinking that they haven’t “gotten to you” yet,
