Hunter Biden was interviewed but seemed to not address why he left the laptop but it seems he was sloppy with his dealings with China which might come back to hurt his father.

Hunter also seems to admit having an addiction during this time which (to me) makes this whole thing seem incredibly gutter stuff from Trump.

So getting back to the developing story - the owner of the computer store, John Paul MacIsaac should be sued by Hunter Biden for a breach of privacy. I am not aware the client (Hunter Biden) consented to having his hard drive information being disseminated and shared with third parties - that certainly was not MacIsaac's right.

We still haven't seen any proof that it was Hunter Biden's hard drive - or laptop - at all.

Nor have we seen any proof that the information given to the New York Post even came from the laptop.

The entire premise of the story is thus questionable.

That is true, and something I would have expected to have been pushed by either Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, or his campaign.

Yet they have been silent on this, which does lend a degree of credibility to the story.

As a note: If the rumor of the letter from lawyers for one of the Biden's that was supposedly sent to the store requesting the return of the laptop is true, it may explain this silence from them regarding the laptop\hard drive and contents. I'd suggest that if they don't make a claim that it wasn't their laptop in the next few days, a copy of the email (should it exist) will be published - probably a day or so after the last scheduled story based on the contents of the laptop\drive - both to keep the story alive a little longer, while also reinforcing the previous stories.

It would be nice to think that everyone would question what they hear in the media, rather than become more "accepting" of what is presented the closer it aligns with what they wish to believe (or less "accepting" if it disagrees)...But sadly that is not the case.

I just have to stare in disbelief at the power of partisanship of some people. 8O
I suspect there is a cultural component involved.

"Crooked Hillary" worked wonders for the last minute swing to Trump in 2016 who was pushing rather disgusting conspiracy theories about pedophile gangs etc. which should have got him tossed out.

That wouldn't be surprising, as I believe one of his former buisness partners has turned on him and handed over access to his personal email account which is connected to Hunter and his business dealings. I did see a hint that the next article may also be connected to China.

As far as I can recall, only one or 2 relatively benign photographs have been released (more photographs and videos were hinted at, however), in order to assist in demonstrating the likely authenticity of emails from the same source as them, with his recreational activities not having been referred to outside of that...It's not like the Trump campaign released a video claiming to be Mr Hunter with some "ladies of negotiable affection" in a hotel room, urinating on a bed, or anything like that.

Its interesting that some people forgot this is a news forum so the source of news is primarily media organisations. It would be fair to say most of us don'r rely entirely on the news but you can triangulate information against known facts to build a picture. Simply accusing those who present news stories as being biased is simplistic as journalists have access to data and information not privy to us mere mortals.

I think you miss where we are coming from.
We use our critical thinking skills, and reliable sources, to identify the falsehood so often presented in the American media, in particular.

Were you suggesting we simply jump to the conclusion that media is dishonest before we view the material?
Rather, I think know critical thinkers need to maintain an open mind.
Even a political media clock can be right twice a day. 8)

And it is not simply straight-out dishonesty, which needs to be considered.
Lies of omission, a strength of the Australian ABC, must be considered, also.
Then we have the question of political interference of Twitter and Facebook. 8)

Your point?

Did I state I accepted it as being true? Or did I state that "if true" it may explain something?

The former is a statement of fact, the latter is an indication of unconfirmed information, along with an suggestion of what confirmation (should it occur) may be a sign of. I don't see anything in the second quote showing I accept it as true, but would be happy if you could show where you believe that I stated I did.

Hillary was generally disliked, based on what I have heard.
Apparently, she, and her corrupt political aristocracy, lost the election, rather than Trump winning it. 8)

Not sure how "solid" it is: I've heard it from a couple of sources, although they are connected. That said, it's the only thing I have heard that gives any indication as to a reason why the Bidens and their campaign haven't been out attacking the source of the information, or what is contained in it, in any meaningful way, given the potential damage it could cause\is potentially causing them.

I have no doubt the Bidens are in damage control.

Trump probably learned this from Steve Bannon. Spray the voters with juicy innuendo and get last minute swinging voters to vote Trump when perhaps they might have abstained from voting and were planned to watch the football with budweiser than turn the channel to watch politics.

The Political Theater of this situation is a joy to behold. The same media running interference for the Bidens today is the same media that gleefully reported on the Trump "Dirty Dossier" years ago that was proven false.

Well, seems the "Russian disinformation" claim suffered a minor setback:

Quote:
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday said the information contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop revealed by The Post last week “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”

During an appearance on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Ratcliffe shot down allegations by Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, that emails showing former Vice President Joe Biden knew about his son’s business dealings in Ukraine are a “smear” created by Moscow.

“Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” Ratcliffe said, adding that “this is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”

“Let me be clear: the intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress,” he said.

Quote:
Ratcliffe said the computer is “in the jurisdiction of the FBI.”

“The FBI has had possession of this,” he said. “Without commenting on any investigation that they may or may not have, their investigation is not centered around Russian disinformation and the intelligence community is not playing any role with respect to that.”
