Ex-members you're probably thinking of simply departed. I'm sure it can be seen that most on "both sides" aren't around any longer.

I think a lot of people just got tired of basically the same thing being brought up daily. This is the only forum I've been on that seems to revolve around Trump.

I look forward to this circus leaving town. It is not a good circus. It doesn't seem to have any class acts, just way too many clowns.

Oh sure...folks are just addicted to Trump. And need to go to Betty Ford to get methadone treatment. One Trump post is too many, and a million is not a enough. I just gotta mainline some Cofeve!

The folks who talk about Trump a lot now, will be more than happy to forget that he ever existed after Jan 20th.

Its the events that may not allow it. Trump presumably will continue to hold rallies to keep his cult going, so he can run again in 2024. Biden will have to clean up the mess he left behind. And Trump, and his family, will have legal troubles that will make the news.

The 2016 campaign is when Trump obsession started on this site. Back then it was pro Trumpers who would bring him up and cheer him on, and would instigate "vigorous discussion". And provoke response. Then when he took office both sides would provoke the other. With Trump haters seeking out things to say. Right now you dont hafta look far to find things to say. And pro Trumpers are becoming loudly silent, and strangely, and progressively more loudly silent, as the year ends, for some reason ( I am sure that embarrassment about how Trump is flaunting his lawlessness in the open right now cant possibly be the reason ).So I would guess that both camps are rather sick of the guy by now.

But Trump may not be sick of us, and of our attention, yet.

So if you dont like it, write Trump an angry letter about it. Dont complain to us about it.

Other sites, like Aspie Central, essentially do not even allow political discussion. So thats how other sites avoid being as "Trump-centric" as this one.

If you're going to support a posse of insane clowns, you might as well support the originals.

They do have a political section but it's hidden to all members unless they enable that board. But you have the option to not see it. I have never touched that section. I am afraid there will be way too many right wingers there and Trump lovers worshipping him like he is their god. Let them have their own safe space where no one can insult Trump or speak up against racism. I know that will just be taken as an attack and an insult to all Trump lovers and white fragility. I know from my experience here.

Yes. They do have a political section, but they have those "open sesame" things you gotta go through to access it. Like you said.

I actually joined the site a couple of months ago, but havent gotten around to revisiting it. But many one time WPers are there, and some under the same names as they had here. You might recognize old friends if you visit the site. And there are advantages, and disadvantages, to keeping political vitriol under wraps like they do, vs letting it be open like here.

Said hello to one person there who got banned from here. He is a person I might have bonded with if I had only known him from aspie central because Trump would never have come up in conversation. But on here was always bickering with everyone.

I assume that they keep political debate hidden just to keep the site friendly. Not to protect Trump supporters per se. But Trump supporters do often leave this site for Aspie Central. So you maybe right that their hidden political debate room might be a Trumpsters hangout.

I have also recognized the same people there and I think I know who you were talking about. I thought that user was a troll here, a political one and was always provoking people and then playing the victim. I didn't think he was telling the full story on there and the real truth but I kept my mouth shut because I didn't want it to be seen as an attack for telling everyone he was a troll here and the bully and the "bullies" were the provoked ones reacting to his trolling.

Don't get me wrong, he sounds like a decent and normal person when he isn't involved in politics. He wrote good posts here before and I liked his humor before he turned into a political troll.

Well the 12 or so of you left pretty much have the place to yourselves now.

How many on here who disagreed with your political views weren't political trolls in your eyes?

It gets decided by some that someone is a troll and then of course that leads to that person being treated with contempt.
