I think the worst damage Trump has done to this country is turning so many people into water carriers for establishment news and social media misinformation and censorship. They're the heroes now, because they appeared to take on Trump. We're feeding the disease that gave us Trump, steroids at this point. If we keep it up, just wait a few years and we'll get someone who will make Trump look wonderful by comparison.

Dr. Malone, right or wrong, has the right to express his opinions on Covid and the vaccines. But no, people who allow him to speak must be removed for the good of all because it doesn't jive with the narrative pushed by big pharm.

I doubt if anyone cheering this s**t on have heard anything Mslone or Rogan have said. They are just regurgitating propaganda with doing any research. Good job!

It's quaint when people try to pretend highly visible and successful artists are actually obscure and just seeking publicity when they take a principled stand.

It has nothing to do with the stupidity of the ideas or the validity of the fears of them.

Uh oh...

https://www.thedailybeast.com/neil-youn ... nformation

Quote:
Neil Young’s Long Record of Spreading Scientific Misinformation

The rocker threatened to pull his music from Spotify to protest Joe Rogan’s anti-vax misinformation. I hope Neil Young will remember that he helped create this problem.

In keeping with his career-long tradition of performative activism, Neil Young demanded in a (since-deleted) open letter on his website that Spotify either remove his music or Joe Rogan’s podcast from its service—in the name of quelling COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

Spotify purchased the rights to stream the The Joe Rogan Experience in 2020 for $100 million. Critics have argued Spotify is culpable when Rogan casts doubts on vaccines, features vax-skeptical guests, or touts unproven COVID medications to his millions of listeners.

For his stance, Young is basking in praise as a principled musician willing to sacrifice his own streaming revenue in the name of science, technological progress, and public health.

This is the same Neil Young who in 2015 released an entire album, The Monsanto Years, that’s wall-to-wall songs from an anti-biotechnology point of view.

Young’s anti-GMO rhetoric helped fuel a narrative that made it easy to spread fear and distrust about COVID vaccines, most of which used novel biotechnology methods and some of which use genetic engineering.

A collective amnesia has set in amongst progressives regarding the left’s past pandering to the anti-biotechnology movement. Reactionary luddism—especially around biotechnology—was both politically correct and convenient for progressive celebrity activists. But that was in the “before times.”

Where this was published is almost as revealing as what was actually said.

Interesting... Accuse people who have no idea who a person is of lying "pretending" not to know who the person they are asking about is.

I'm guessing the reason I don't have any idea about this person must be that their work was localised to North America, and wasn't deemed worthy of export to other regions (Given I don't recall anything about them in the past 40 years or so, and they never came up in my parent's or step father's record collections or on the wireless stations they listened to), as I still have absolutely no idea who they are, having never come across their name before.

Looks like Prince Harry and Meghan are on board now for this nonsense. Mass insanity! This has become virtue signaling by those who can't even be bothered to research what it is their against.

Neil Young is an ex-drug addict, hooked up with crazy Daryl Hannah, and the worst part of CSNY.
Joe Rogan is an idiot Trump loving nutter.

I call this one a draw.

Neil Young had fun and wrote some good tunes. Darryl Hannah was one hot mermaid in Splash, I remember seeing that as a kid, she was enchanting. CSNY. Don't watch it. Joe Rogan, I don't mind him, he seems fairly intelligent for a steroid abusing meathead kind of guy. Trump is a megalomaniac. Old news. Meh.

You can call this one a contrarian.

Neil Young used to be anti-establishment, now he's pro-establishment. Even if he isn't conscious of what he's doing, he's definitely a useful idiot.

It seems Neil Young is also a homophobe. I still like his music but consider his politics askew. Both things can be true.

Yeah, I seem to recall he made rather homophobic comments at the beginning of the AIDS crisis. Can't remember what they were, though.

I will continue to enjoy some of his music, regardless.

Both Young and Rogan are very talented within their respective fields. Why we should care what they think about the technicalities and political aspects of a public health issue is beyond me.

I went to see (among others) Rogan at the Comedy Store in Hollywood, on Election Eve, 2016, for the "End Of The World Podcast". If I had known then what Rogan might have to say about the pandemic coming up a few years later, I think that my choice to attend would have been affected not even a little.

For anyone still suffering from an inability to copy/paste into a Google search and receive a wealth of information about the (ahem) little-known Joni Mitchell and her obscure music, here are a couple of links:
