have you talked to these "f**k ups" or are you simply judging them?
as you should know, people commit violent acts for thousands of reasons, often not fully understanding the consequences, or even their own motives.

You and I have every right to judge them for what they've done. Why do you believe that they are somehow redeemable?
Yeah, they commit violent acts for various reasons, and it seems that in this case the attack was unprovoked. What are you going to do, go to the bottom of their psyche and somehow take those negative thoughts out of them? Using science or therapy? Hah. We shouldn't give them that chance, they never gave that chance to the people they murdered.

Can't you sympathise with the victim for once? The victim has lost everything through no fault of their own. It is an injustice to the murdered and their family that their killer gets off with reeducation and a pitiful prison sentence.

i do feel for the victim!! if i was put in a room with the perpetrators, my first instinct would be to torture & kill them.. i'm far from perfect. my point is that this doesn't help, other than to satisfy the desire for vengeance.
i cannot say with certainty that ANY criminal is redeemable or not, but i think they can certainly "learn" from it in some way, perhaps only a little,or perhaps they would fully understand what they had done & spend their life trying to redeem themselves.
the latter is maybe unlikely &maybe you're right Anubis, in that they really don't deserve another chance. i can't say with certainty.
i would like to ask why? to the perpetrators, sounds silly perhaps, but i mean i'd want to try to understand. i doubt i could ever truly respect these people who would attack a defenceless person, but maybe i could understand it better.

Either way these people did something quite awful & i agree they should be punished.
As someone from the UK, i imagine you feel that ALL violent "chavs" should be punished or at least educated. i may be wrong, but i feel this way &i think you know what i mean.

i can't keep this up, i've made some points, good or bad, but there is little else i can say.
Plus i'd really like to get on with WP users, i have no friends, AS or NT, & this place is a good chance for me.

No Anubis...I have no sympathy for the murderer. Sorry if it seems so. I don't agree in the death penalty for a number of reasons and none of them have anything to do with it being inhumane. I don't think the death penalty is inhumane by any means. I think the victim's family has a right to see their sibling's killer executed in some form of vengeance/revenge/justice...whichever they feel it is. Like I said, I was trying to put these killers to good use and lessen the burden on the prisons to make room for people that belong there, like child molesters for instance. If our judicial system can find a faster solution to put people to death and not let the killer spend a decade on death row, then I am all for that. I just don't see the point in letting them rot while we can off them that much quicker.

So again, sorry if I inadvertently contributed to this 'outpouring of sympathy'. I do not sympathize at all.

Agreed Fudo. Regardless of our differing viewpoints on certain subject matter, at least we can all agree we're here on WP for a common cause. I consider everyone on here a part of my extended family, despite our little spats on matters such as these.

I hope whoever did it gets caught and charged with murder.
They deserve life in prison.

I am against the death penalty but.....If this happened to a friend or family member, I'd be in jail for murder. If anything, These evil losers should be forced to live their lives just as their victims. Its just wrong to let this go and/or give a few years in jail.

miserylovescompany, I've heard a great deal about such things happening. In fact, I can recall how several years ago when I was much younger having to deal with the tyrants(bullies) at that time and it was not the best of scenarios. No! I did not necessarily suffer any physical injury yet, I had to endure the notion that in some people's eyes I was nothing more than some mentally-retarded person whom deserved to be beaten up on..Mind you, I'm not mentally-retarded merely stating that is how others had seen me cause, of the fact, I did not say alot nor was, I the so-called popular person as such.
Anyways, reading of this story tends to make me shall I say it very irate if not angry.  Hoever, I would feel that punishment for the persons whom did this should be as severe as the act of which they carried out on the autistic lad..
