You're making a false assumption that not believing in God equates with bad behaviour. This is not the case. Morality is not dependant on the existence of God.
Only 18 countries as of now recognize gay marriage!
They are:
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uruguay...
Finland, Ireland, and Slovenia are next when their laws come into force.
Finland already legalized gay marriage earlier this year.
Their law doesn't take effect until 1 March 2017. There are a whole bunch of related legislative changes that need to be enacted first, apparently.

I haven't read the full text of Scalia's dissent, but a few news articles have quoted him as saying that he would rather "hide [his] head in a bag" rather than support the majority opinion.
Oh, LOL, thanks for posting the "proper" quote!! It's only a little better, though. LOL

Quite touching, really!
From the (LGBT) Washington Blade newspaper: "The Puerto Rico Capital, Niagara Falls, Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida, the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower in New York and San Francisco City Hall were also illuminated in rainbow colors to celebrate the marriage decision."

What, gay people don't murder people daily?
Whatever their percentage in the population, they're going to be represented in the daily worldwide homicide rate.
But, we assume they're innocent until proven guilty, because you know, freedom.
Obviously, they must be represented in murder statistics. However, there are far more killing by guns. You imply that gays are more dangerous than guns, which is ridiculous. Even taking into account the vastly more guns than gays, guns kill more by percentage, Homer...

Well played, Ninja. Well played.

You say that like it would be a bad thing.
Because it is. Marriage is meant purely to between a man and a woman. The Lord created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
What about all those old testament prophets who had a whole gaggle of wives?
Those prophets, if you're talking about Moses, Joshua, etc., are pre-10 commandments. There was no law to break at that time. It is only when Moses came down from the mountain did it become sin. There are specific taboos against homosexuality in Leviticus, as well as I Corinthians.
Why do you think Greece is no longer a great empire? For that matter, why do you think Roman Empire no longer exists? Why do you think the United States is about to fall to the same fate? IT IS BECAUSE OF THEIR RESPECTIVE SOCIETIES TOTAL DEPRAVITY! THE SO-CALLED LGBT LIFESTYLE HAD A LOT TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DOWFALL OF THOSE SOCIETIES.
Read the article in this link and think hard before responding: https://carm.org/bible-homosexuality
For those who say there is no God, more's the pity on you, since, AFAIC, you have no hope. I walked in your shoes at one time, and I was one of the Worst, and most miserable SOB's around. However, I'm not so naive as to try to convice you that you are seriously misguided, so I won't bother. You'll have to figure this out for yourself, if you ever figure it out. Otherwise, ad hominem attacks on my views will just go sent to /dev/null.
You claim to have walked in my shoes. If you mean you didn't buy religious nonsense, then you walked in my shoes. But, if you mean you were an a**hole while doing so, then you walked in your own despicable shoes. Suggesting that since you were an a**hole while not believing says nothing about those of us who were decent, honest people while non-believing and we don't appreciate you trying to smear us with your crap...

Agreed. Just because some people are so depraved that they cannot be a functional member of society without religion does not imply that everyone is.
A disturbing trend in fundamental Christianity - why are they so sure that without the specter of eternal damnation we would all be raping and murdering and blending linen and wool into the same fabric?

Meistersinger-
Actually, the Greek Empire splintered because Alexander on his death bed told his generals that he'd leave his empire to the strongest. Instead, his generals decided to carve up the realm into the Hellenistic kingdoms, instead of murdering each other in a destructive civil war - which proved to be easy pickings for the Romans, centuries later.
The Roman Empire in the east in fact had lasted in the form of the Byzantine Empire up till the 15th century. The western empire of course fell much sooner, but that had had nothing to do with homosexuality, as the Romans had converted to Christianity by that time, and homosexuality had been punishable by death. Rather, the fall occurred because of the political split between the east and west sides of the empire. While the eastern empire had had a long tradition of commerce and urbanization literally dating back to the Neolithic, the west had remained largely poor agrarian societies, despite the existence of cities in Italy, Spain, and North Africa. The western empire didn't have a tax base, increasingly put on the shoulders of the poor, to continue the functions of government, including funding a professional army. So instead for defense, the Romans came to depend on Barbarian tribes from the outside, who might be allies one day, then enemies the next. When the Barbarians would seize territory, the Roman Emperors would pretend that those areas were still part of the Empire, and would declare those invaders to be allies holding the land for Rome. In other cases, the Romans just deserted far flung regions, such as Britain, Belgium, and the Rhineland, which soon became Barbarian lands. Barbarian kings and chieftains regularly raised up and disposed of puppet Roman Emperors, till the Germanic mercenary, Odavacer, decided to do away with this fiction of a Roman Empire (which by that time was whittled down to almost nothing, save Italy and parts of Central Europe), overthrew the last emperor (ironically called Little Agustulus, for the first emperor, Augustus), and declared himself king of Italy. While the eastern empire, Byzantium, had in time reclaimed Italy and North Africa from the Ostrogoths and Vandals, this unity between east and west was short lived, as Italy was invaded and conquered by the Longobards, while North Africa fell to the Muslim invaders.
Or short answer - - homosexuality had absolutely nothing to do with the fall of Rome.

Now those are REALLY pretty.
Seriously, it blows my mind seeing so many places go to so much effort.
