But I bet you voted for him when he was - or will you deny that 3 times before the cock crows?

Of course I did. What's your point? That Jesus sucks my balls?

Rather ironic to be quoting verses from the bible. Hasn't Mr Trump denied made denials over his part in the abuse of a 13 yr old working on one of his resorts

and there was this

I'm really sure the christian fundementalists who are licking Mr Trump's boots would be really keen to leave their teenage daughters in his care....apparently they haven't noticed that satan sport's a orange toupee these days

Ever notice how it's the fundies and holy rollers who point an accusing finger at the rest of us as sinners, or heretics, but throw their support behind a raging hypocrite like Trump? That is, when they're not getting in trouble with their own sex and financial scandals.

Another thing, you have no place saying anything to me since I wasn't even talking to you. And once you stop holding up for the liar you're going to vote for then you can talk about me holding up for Trump. Also for all of those abortions you think are ok - I'd think about that for awhile. Not very religious if you ask me.

This is a forum. We talk to each-other. It's what we do.

No, I was not. I was addressing the post answering yours. I was thinking precisely of Jerry Falwell Jr, Christianity's crazy Uncle Pat Robertson, and all the rest of the religious right leadership that's lined up behind Trump after condemning gays, Muslims, liberals, those of us who were baptized as babies, etc.

You know what? If it wasn't for the politics, we'd have a lot in common. I really liked you before the politics got involved. That's really too bad. I've lost a lot of friends over this election. Politics changes people and not for good - even me. It's sad. I miss Raptor too. He was really a good person - but the politics got in the way. This is why I keep leaving because I hate getting this mad at probably good people if it wasn't for the politics. It makes me want to cry. I really do like you Kraichgauer. I think you're a good person. I just needed to say that with all of the ugliness going on.

I'm sorry you lost friends over this election, as it's hardly worth losing people you like over any of it.
And I agree, you and I probably would get along much better. There's no reason why politics should be allowed to divide people, as intellectual discussions, whether they are about politics, religion, or even J.R.R. Tolkien vs Robert E. Howard as the true father of Heroic Fantasy literature  , etc, should be enjoyable, not something that gets people going for their guns. I used to have a frenemy here on WP who called himself Inuyasha, with who I would argue with for pages on pages. Despite that, I actually liked the guy. There had even been a white supremacist type here who had taken a liking to me despite our arguments. Inuyasha ended up being banned, for what I was told, making one too many anti-gay statements. The other guy, after getting into a row with a moderator, ended up self-deporting. My point is, you and I can still be friends, even if we argue about things we disagree on. Please, don't take disagreement personally.
The less I have to say about Raptor is probably for the best. Originally, I had tried to get on with him even though he and I were polar opposites in socio-political matters, but he ended up getting way too personal in his attacks.

[Moderating]
Some of the exchanges in this thread have become very personal in both good and bad ways. To avoid the bad side of that, please limit attacks to ideas and public figures not other individuals who happen to hold differing views.

If you need to vent, feel free to go as hard as you like on the ideas, but don't go after the people.

[personal perspective]
To foster the good side of that, personal exchanges like the one that just took place between Nurseangela and Kraichgauer that acknowledge our shared humanity regardless of political differences are a good way to go.

I'm very sure that Hilary's fans wouldn't use Trump's wife to justify him not getting in the White House if she was a criminal.

Good lord! A point of agreement. Well, it had to happen.

As far as I know, the only thing that's been said about Mrs. The Donald is that she was briefly working without proper papers long ago. I don't think anyone was ever suggesting prosecution or that Trump should not be president because of it, but rather pointing out what a massive hypocrite that would make him for ranting on about illegals that "we don't want in OUR country."

I know Trump talks about the Bible a lot but I think that's just lip service to get the fundamentalist vote . If Trump wins America could be getting its first atheist president (and Mike Pence is either unaware or ignoring this).

I think Pence knows Trump is a sinking ship, but that as Trump's VP, he's in the spotlight for the next Presidential election.
