Four Washington state electors didn't vote Hillary (out of 12), so she gets eight electoral votes from my state.

Sweetie, when you use other people's words, you take them as your own This thread should be a valuable lesson to you regarding this. If you say it, you own it. You state that you are amused by the use of the "washed up" phrase, so stop trying to distance yourself now.

Pumpkin, my saying that it gave me a laugh when I looked it up, made it perfectly clear that it was something I had looked up and read. There's nothing for me to own up to. I attributed that statement to something I had read, rather than attempting to take credit for it. The problem here, is the inability of others to decipher the obvious context of something. I was amused by the statement as a whole. It's others who became unfathomably obsessed and distressed over two words in a ten word summery of someone they don't know and probably couldn't name a single movie he was in off the top of their head other than Apocalypse Now. And outside of Sheen and Brando, probably have no idea who else acted in it.

If you've watched the movie you'd know that it had a very well known cast,Harrison Ford,Duvall and Dennis Hopper, and others. Not to mention the classic scenes, the Flight of the Valykries, and the smell of napalm in the morning.
I certainly didn't become distressed or obsessed over it.As for other Sheen films,I think he was in Ghandi. It doesn't really matter,if you starred in one epic film you've done more than most. The rest might be awful, dosent matter.
I don't select films because of who stars in them, but for the subject matter.
You can have any political viewpoint you like and feel free to diss whoever you want for their beleifs.
But unless you've watched the film, then you really can't have an opinion on it.
JFYI,it was based on Jospeph Conrad's Heart of Darkness.

But without a doubt, the looming and malign presence of Marlon Brando as the maniac/warrior poet Col. Kurtz made the movie a classic.

IMO it was Brando at his best.

A Republican-dominated EC gets death threats from Hillary supporters and they vote Trump.

Gee, why am I not surprised?

It did seem rather counter productive.

I like the shame chanting from Game of Thrones.

I remember once my dad saying a friend described Game of Thrones as, "Imagine a world entirely run by Republicans...."

just like to add a brief statement regarding celebrities and their influence to elections (not only US).
It appears that celebrities do have an influence. Although, i would question a persons intelligence if they were to vote for a particular candidate based on the fact that a celebrity (which sometimes may be someone with a low IQ)
is backing them.

However, in this day and age, journalism, politics and those who work within the entertainment industry are intrinsically linked. I would go further to add that quite a few of people who work in the entertainment industry in fact work as propagandists for the political party whom they either philosophically align themselves with, capitalize out of materially, or who they are involved with to boost their PR and in some cases gain Kudo's.

I personally feel that the present situation is a very poor state of affairs, but people being selfish, greedy and self centered in nature often seek ways to exploit the world around them and will use all avenues of exploitation to do so, including some avenues that they will portray themselves as moralists, hero's or even victims.
To them, its all just business and such people in my experience care little about who they exploit, ruin or hurt.

Worse still, some celebrities who have low IQ's may even be manipulated into doing really nasty things to innocent people for people in politics (for example a UK prime minister). I for example know of one prominent case where an altruistic voluntary unpaid ghost writer saved a bumbling clueless world leader from a career ruining slaughter only for that ghost writer to them have the world leader take all credit for the ghost writers help and then have the world leader turn everyone in politics, journalism and the entertainment industry against him.

But that is the toxic nature of all these intrinsically woven industries. In our day and age, where God and morality has been assassinated along with truth, this is the only logical way for such people to act. However, and in my opinion. How they act is shameful and without merit. They defile the earth that they walk on. Shame on them...

Nothing wrong with free as long as the taxpayers don't have to foot the bill for it.
Every Christmas I donate to the USMC Toys for Tots out of my own pocket, not John Q. Taxpayer's pockets.

So does Santa if you haven't noticed.
