The most innocuous thing I can think of is drugs but if you really start looking into the Podesta's background then certain things aren't so far fetched. This isn't the only use of code in his emails, there is also reference to handkerchiefs which are well known as code.

Well, if Podesta and some of his friends are gay, who the hell cares? As long as it's between consenting adults, it's their own business. As so many conservatives critics are fanatic homophobes, it would be easy to understand why he and company would want to keep it secret.
