Democratic values; you know, tolerance toward others, despite religion, ethnicity, politics, national origin, sexuality, etc, and believing the same rights assured to you be extended to them, including the right to vote and hold office. That is, everything Putin opposes.
Sure, Putin wins every election in his country, and is riding high in the polls. But so did Hitler, Saddam Hussein, and other dictator of the modern world who tried to use the veneer of democracy to legitimize his totalitarian rule. Putin fits right in with them.
