Not entirely true. There are plenty of people out there in the current climate who genuinely despise white people, and discriminate on an individual, and institutional, level. It's not hard to find hateful statements or articles with provocative headlines that feed the extremists on both sides, and to many; "prove" their fears to be legit. When I'm told that I am partly responsible for past atrocities, or that my opinion on issues is worth less, due to the color of my skin (which has happened more than once, and ironically I'm not even what a neo-nazi would consider white) it does bother me, both because it's plain bigotry and because it helps extreme groups justify their existence and more easily recruit.
Sure there are racist of color; that's undeniable. But the simple fact of the matter is, it's hardly institutional as white racism has been, and the purveyors of anti-white racism don't have the power or numbers to enforce their hate. With the exception of the lunatic Black Muslims, anti-white racists usually don't have the power or the reach to bother the rest of us.
I will admit, as I'm a German american, I find it offensive that people claim all of German history led to Hitler, or that it's okay to make fictional bad guys German with the assumption that all Germans are bad, or to throw around the word "Kraut" as if it's not an offensive ethnic slur. And despite that, I'm not going to use this to justify joining some Germanic-ethno-racist group. I feel the exact same way about generalized attacks on whites. Fighting hate with hate isn't justifiable in the least.

We love our country, we love our God, we love our flag, we’re proud of our country, we’re proud of who we are, so we’re going to get this situation straightened out in Charlottesville, and we want to study it, and we want to see what we’re doing wrong as a country.”
An appropriate thing to say in response, and yet he is still being criticised for not "explicitly condemning bigotry", even though he clearly does. Do some people actually want him to come out in favour of the counter-demonstrators? Will that finally make them happy?
I notice in the footage many of these "counter-demonstrators" holding up signs that look very well made, as though they had them ready long in advance, so I must wonder if they had trouble in mind all along. Why are "far-right" demonstrators demonised, but "far-left" ones treated like saints by our lousy mainstream media? From what I have thus far found out, both sides were responsible for this chaos.
Taking down a statue of Robert E. Lee is just not acceptable, especially when in some parts of the world there are still statues to tyrants like Stalin and Lenin. Why aren't THEY being demolished? Images of the Marx monument in Chemnitz, Germany:

White racists no longer have the power to enforce their beliefs either anymore, so I hardly see how any of this can in any way mitigate racism directed at whites from non-whites. The simple fact that they "don't have the power or numbers" does NOT make it any less wrong.
LOL PWNED

ATTENTION CRACKERS: Don't dish it out if you can't take it. If you support the Confederacy in public, people will come after you. That's tough. What did you think would happen? Don't be such a goddamn idiot.

Who knows, maybe those signs had been pre made, but that hardly justifies siding against people who stand up against hate.
With organized hate, and standing against it, it's a black and white issue. Even if the counter protesters got out of hand, it's hardly fair to demonize them, as that suggests the white supremacists were somehow excusable on some level.

There is race based voter suppression in a number of redstates, all under the guise of fighting voter fraud. Multitudes of white supremacists troll the internet in a way non white-racist would never have the numbers to do. And they do exist in vast numbers that unfortunately had been greatly underestimated, as we on the left just assumed bigotry would die with the older generation. If anything, they've found fertile ground among those whiney millennials who haunted internet chat rooms and comment pages with their hate and sense of victimhood.

I stand against BOTH sides in this matter, because I am all too familiar with so-called counter-demonstrators trying to portray themselves as being the peaceful victims of ultra-right violence and bigotry. It's largely a lie, one that the media just loves to indulge in for their own reasons.

Your point being... what? That because of what you claim here it's not so bad to discriminate against whites? Is that it?

Uh, no. What I'm saying is, other than the testimony of a WP member who I consider to be a friend, who I readily accept as having faced anti-white male discrimination, most of that talk of white racism tends to be fictional, especially from the Alt Right. The people whose like appeared at the Alt Right march would have been racists regardless of any alleged reverse racism. They are using this anti-white discrimination they claim to be victims of as a pretext to justify their reaction against civil rights gains for minorities. The very last people you should want to be championing the rights of stepped on whites are those white trash racists. The people oppressing working class and young whites aren't minorities who have it worse than them, but business people more interested in cutting the social safety net, and artificially keeping wages low and benefits non-existent.

The counter demonstrators are not as bad as the demonstrators as they are not supporting an ideology that favors total elimination of groups of people, but are still abhorrent and are just as much against core American and democratic values.
Because everybody is so fixated about racism everybody is missing what this demonstration was primarily about which was anti semitism, not racism. Sure the demonstrators are racist as hell but they were yelling "We will not be replaced by Jews" not "We will not be replced by blacks". I believe one reason Charlottsville was targeted was because it has a Jewish mayor.

As I understand the ideology of the racist, AntiSemitic right (and it's not always easy to follow, because it's clearly bonkers), they believe blacks and other minorities are the unwitting foot soldiers of ZOG (Zionist Occupied Government). Thus they think they can explain how desegregation and civil rights are all part of the Jewish world conspiracy. For those people, Antisemitism and racism are indivisible.

The height of ridiculousness is where injured white supremacists would rather have an untrained white intern treat their injuries in an emergency ward rather than a top Asian doctor

It seems when blatant racism in the UK, Canada and Australia gets pointed out, it's quickly glossed over.
When blatant racism is pointed out in any demographic except the targeted one, it's quickly glossed over.
Only racism among white conservative Americans gets assessed to the point of over exaggeration where all are ultimately viewed as being nazis.
However, it's completely ridiculous for white conservative Americans to think anyone wants to do away with them.
