Many women can pass Basic Training. They can meet the male standards for that. With the possible exception of pull-ups.

They might have difficulty with something like Navy Seals or the Green Beret standards.

Sometimes, a woman's "deficit" in upper-body strength might be made up in lower-body strength.

You know that your constant googling for edge exceptions proves nothing, right? I mean what is it you're trying to say? That women make better soldiers than men? That women are more physically capable than men? If that's what you're getting at then come out and say it, are you embarrassed to because you know it's not true? It's obviously not true and the experts (the military themselves) also disagree or else they'd be more front line female soldiers.

No because a man's lower body strength will be greater than the woman's too.

One in 5 get raped right in the US. Should we ban them from the colleges? It happens all the time on University campuses. It is a bad thing that mostly happens to women, but keeping them out of the armed forces wont stop it at all.

It's not about "stopping rape", it's about lessening the tools and propaganda you give to the enemy.

I think physical strength used to be important, but I'm not sure sure it will be important in future wars.
Technology constantly changes what is important. Huge resources were spent on battleships. Big Mo is now a tourist attraction. Aircraft carriers were far more important than battleships in WW2. And WW2 ended with the use of weapons that simply didn't exist at the start of the war. And those new weapons required the creation of whole cities to make.

Being big is an advantage if you have to do the carrying. But, will that still be true 10 years from now?

The thing about seal training is that the games are biased. The people putting them together get to decide who wins. Why favor the little guys?

What does front line matter if a little dictatorship has the capability to deliver a nuke anywhere in the world?

I actually was sacked from a job around 15 yrs for saying this at a work lunch

Lesson Learned: There are some true things that a man can't say. Deal with it.

That's why men invented science fiction. The best way to deal with this ultra-PC insanity is to drift into fantasy land and pretend it's not there.

There is an added issue of demoralisation when a female trooper gets captured by the enemy and is paraded around on youtube surrounded by big hairy Arab men.

Yes, and a greater chance of rape etc, or threat of rape as a way of leverage or torture.

And it's not just female soldiers

Chelsea Manning was booted out of the military for being a real hero. Now she uses the internet to fight against people who actually deserve our wrath.

If you are in the US military, you are fighting for the rich and powerful so that the oppressed can suffer more. Unfortunately, some youths are getting into the military just because the economy is crap and there are few other job opportunities.

I'm essentially saying that transpeople shouldn't want to be in the military. Nobody should want to be an American soldier or an American cop at this point in history, since they serve the forces of capitalism and white supremacy.

When i read stuff like this it makes me even prouder to have served, and makes me want to encourage others to join up.

Statistically a woman in the US armed forces is far more likely to be raped by a platoon mate than an enemy soldier. If you really care about rape in the military, let's put the blame where it belongs.

Women on average aren't as strong as men. This is a well known fact, and unless things have changed recently, why the military has different physical fitness standards for each gender.

Here's something a lot of you probably didn't know; a trans person served the union army during the civil war. The US army could use more good soldiers like Albert Cashier.

Nah. The People's Revolutionary Army needs more soldiers like that.

The US military won't do any good things as long as the US government remains under corporate control.
