Trump Attacks Black footballers
If I hate haggis does that mean I hate Scottish people? If I hate gospel music does that mean I hate people of faith? You can disagree with something or not like something purely because you don't like that thing, not because you hate the majority demographic involved in that thing.

Some in Appalachia do .
I know you were talking to somebody else----but, I wanted to chime-in, on this one.....
YES!! As you probably already know, my family's in / from Appalachia, as well, and I've heard SEVERAL people call cougars, "Painters" (I figured it was, like, "language decay", or whatever, for "Panther")----also, I've heard them called "Catamounts" (again, I figured it meant, like, "Cat of the mountain", or whatever).
I've heard all KINDS of stories about cougars, in them thar heels----everything from being killed, because they threatened (and/or killed) the livestock on my family's farms, to protecting an infant human!! I don't know if any of those stories are TRUE----but, they always made for GREAT entertainment, at my grandfather's knee!!
One of my elders told wolf stories.They raised sheep in the Grand Prairie region here and wolves constantly carried them off.Also tornado stories.One family would dress in their Sunday finest and lay down in their beds every bad storm.So the relatives wouldn't have to dress them for the funeral.A tornado also picked up a herd of cattle,lifted them over a fence and set them down in a neighbor's adjoining field unharmed.I just loved hearing those stories.
Wow, I find that really interesting that both y'all mentioned "wolf stories", and I don't remember hearing ANYTHING about wolves----but, I DO remember coyote stories. I used to LOVE anything about coyotes, cuz, to me, they were very mysterious. I used to keep my eyes peeled for them----I'd often seen them on the ridge behind my aunt's farm; and also, hear them "talking" (howling/barking) to each other, at night, and it was always a comforting sound, to me.
@Misslizard: Your story about the family dressing in their Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes, reminded me of that scene in "Titanic", when that elderly couple did the same thing.

Welp, I'll not be taking that bait, t'day----but, why should YOU care?
So? Who CARES? You seem to be forgetting that one of thee main reasons, Mr. Trump became president, was because of his MAGA philosopy----NOT, make the WORLD, great again!!

I AGREE!!
Even though "my" beloved Ravens lost (read: "were slaughtered") t'day (don't ask me why they were in friggin' London LOL), I was VERY proud to see them and the Jax Jags standing and locking arms (most of 'em), as the anthem, played. IMO, their message was "We are united in standing-UP for our country"----I 'spect it'll be on the national news t'night----and, IMO, THAT'S the way people get their message, across; by being UNITED (whereas, "kneeing" is spurring divisiveness, IMO)! !

Where have I denied this in Australia? I agree with your sources and am not stopping anybody from posting sources/links and giving constructive feedback on Australia but this thread was created about Trump's usual "one sided" approach to anything to do with race. Feel free to start a thread (I know nobody will because Australia is insignificant in international affairs whereas your country is "numero uno" on the global stage)
What is this with "us" does everyone cranky about my posts think they are tethered to Trump or the far right?

Anything posted on the open forum is up for grabs.
Yeah, I figured you'd feel that way----but, there's always the chance some brain-dead somebody would don a cape, and come to your rescue (you know - like, the ones who would normally call you a troll), just so they could look like "WOO-HOO----here's me being WONDERFUL, again!!". LOL

I like this idea, right here----and, I read the link:
(i) advise and assist the Secretary in using, as appropriate, all available authorities to discipline or terminate any VA manager or employee who has violated the public's trust and failed to carry out his or her duties on behalf of veterans, and to recruit, reward, and retain high-performing employees;
(ii) identify statutory barriers to the Secretary's authority to discipline or terminate any employee who has jeopardized the health, safety, or well-being of a veteran, and to recruit, reward, and retain high‑performing employees; and report such barriers to the Secretary for consideration as to the need for legislative changes;
(iii) work closely with relevant VA components to ensure swift and effective resolution of veterans' complaints of wrongdoing at the VA;
I don't wanna derail this thread, but I could tell somebody some stories that'd make their HAIR stand on-end; suffice it to say that there's at least 6 people, that I know-of, who should lose their job at the VA (ALL are Voc Rehab counselors - 1 of 'em [male] hit on me; then, when I requested another counselor, SHE hit on me!! LOL I kid you not!!).

https://wwos.nine.com.au/2017/09/24/04/ ... aying-what
Trump criticising people for not standing means he is racist just because some of those people were black...so those players refusing to go to the Whitehouse makes *them* racist because Trump is white? That's how it works, right? Or does the logic only apply when it meets your agenda?
EXACTLY!!

I AGREE!! People like this, do stuff like this, all-the-time----acting like "I am here, for YOU", when, all-the-while, they have a SELFISH ulterior motive.

No----it's because anybody worth their salt, in THIS country, minds their own business!!
It's not about being "tethered" to President Trump----or, at least, that's not ALL of what it's about. It's about being tethered, to our COUNTRY, and defending it, no matter WHAT!!

Mornin Campin Cat, it's a pity he didn't want America to be "smart again"
We don't need to be "smart again", cuz we never QUIT being smart (generally speaking)! ! Just because the person who YOU thought should get into OUR office, DIDN'T, doesn't mean we're not smart----it just means "we" didn't agree with YOU (an Australian - so, it doesn't matter)! !
