^^ this, exactly; while everyone who should be paying attention to it is busy squawking about the tweets.

Side comment: Hunter S. Thompson? Excellent.

Hmm... I should recheck my net worth again, being my accountant is showing I will be saving a good chunk. According to the posters here, I must be rich!

You must be a real fat cat if you have an accountant.

Has anyone seen or listened to any ads saying how the passed tax cuts for the wealthy are good for you? Those ads are funded by the Kochs. Don't buy into them.

I think the average person is going to go by what their taxes are, rather than ads or criticism. No amount of pro or con propaganda is going to change that.

Conservative Logic:

"If we give free money to billionaires, they will give us jobs! Aren't they super?"
"If we give free money to poor people, they will smoke weed, pump out kids and never work! People in the lower class are damn dirty apes!"

In other words, the conservatives believe that have a ton of money makes you a saint ... which is the exact opposite of what Jesus taught humanity.

I get that there are some libertarian conservatives who oppose subsidies, but they usually make no attempt to oppose lobbying ... which is the force that gave us all of these subsidies in the first place.

My stepdad is a successful businessman. He once told me "If there were no subsidies, there would be no poverty." He also agrees with me when I say that financial lobbying is the main source of the problem.

the haughty wealthy think this life is all there is. and the ones that do believe in god think he's just like themselves. there is just no dealing with that mindset.

Maybe some leftists see the system that way. That's why the left needs to smarten up.

In my opinion, you aren't truly in the "upper class" until you can use your wealth to rig elections. Wealth isn't just about fancy cars and fancy houses. Once you get past a certain point, you can rig elections. That's where the real issues come from.

To be honest, I don't really care if some people own a fancy house, a fancy car and an accountant. I'm primarily concerned with the people who are financing war-crazed politicians in order to ensure the victory of said politicians.

This is what concerns me because it puts actual human lives at risk. I actually agree with the capitalists when they say that envy is a bad thing, but envy isn't what drives me.

You can deal with that mindset. You have to tell the masses abut the source of the problem. That's how social movements begin.

You can believe what you want. I believe that this is the only life that I will ever get. Thus, I shall spend this life pointing out the lies, stupidity, hypocrisy and cowardice of others.

Oh guys, are you making masses of yourselves? :P Happy new year.

I listen to you both. Being a recovering chemist with a recently extracted back tooth, I guess that makes me a molar mass.

I suppose by notifying your local members in governance about what needs to be done and keep drilling it into them by sending emails & phone calls to their office(s).I'm at a loss as to how the tyrants can be removed from various branches of local, state, and national level, but I do hope people don't become complacent and simply accept things cause, life does not nor should not be a miserable and downtrodden manner of existence.
