Why aren’t the left leaning protests relabeled as intimidating? Why’s it only pro constitutional protests labeled as intimidation?

It has nothing to do with who is protesting what & everything to do with the fact that they’re showing up with loaded guns dressed in army guy Halloween costumes.

We have the right to bear arms and protest with said arms. So you think the bill of rights is intimidating?

The militia aka any able body citizen tends to wear camo(which is also legal to own and wear. I own a lot of camo uniforms)

Bearing arms and wearing camo isnt intimidating except to sjw who don’t like anything or anyone different then them.

Bearing arms tia. Protest about the right to bear arms being attacked is valid.
Just like African Americans sitting in at all white restaurants or buses.

It’s a good thing I wasn’t taking a sip of my drink when I read that!

African Americans conducting a peaceful protest of a sit in at all white restaurants or buses is not comparable to some group of combat cosplayers armed to the teeth.

What part of loaded guns and military clothing are intended to intimidate do you not understand? Or do you really not get why the army has guns and military uniforms instead of bubble wands and a casual dress code of Hawaiian shirts? :?

Civil rights are civil rights,
So African Americans peacefully sitting in a dinner is same as pro 2a people peacefully gathering wirh guns over the shoulders

They don’t intimidate me Orr half of the USA. Why are you intimidated?

The military wears uniforms to help stay hidden and be recognized same reason militia do . Militia are a legal and protected under USA law. The USA isn’t Canada.

I find it odd you’re intimidated by people in camo with guns over the should peacefully gathering but not antifa wearing all black with mask, assaulting people and burning buildings. Or black life matters.

I’d wager you’re find with blank panthers gathering with guns?

Why would I find a bunch of black folk having coffee and apple pie in a cafe intimidating? I would not. Only people fearful of black people due to learned racism may. Myself, I’d join them for coffee and pie, a little conversation, and maybe telling some racist people to f**k off. :)

But people walking around with loaded guns dressed like they wished they could have been admitted to the military? Of course that’s intimidating to anyone with a high enough IQ to realize that guns are lethal weapons. That’s their entire purpose of presenting themselves that way. Obvi.

I’m not a fan of any group of civilians gathering with loaded guns. Bunch of gun nuts just asking for trouble or an accident waiting to happen.

It was a question, not a statement and I didn't label anyone. What do you think motivated him to make this call to arms?

I’ve seen calls for liberals to liberate red states aka by elections. Nothing I’ve seen from trump calls for arms. Elections for state congresses and governors are coming in November too so he probably wants republicans to vote out democrats in said states. If I was able to and not worried about the virus I’d attend protests too.

Do you think it's possible that reactionary types might misinterpret his words and show up to anti lockdown rallies in those states brandishing guns?

It’s their right and logical to have guns at a pro 2a rally to protect the right to own guns.
You must not be American?

I didn't hear any mention of a pro 2a rally. When is the next pro 2a rally?

2a is 2nd amendment.
Right if the people to bear arms. Rally is a protest. It’s a protest to oppose further violations of the constitution and bill of rights. They are always peacefully and even clean up after themselves unlike when left protests. They also file permits usually.

The recent rightwing protests in Michigan weren't peaceful. They used their vehicles to create a triffic jam that blocked access to hospitals. If it was a left-wing protest Dump would sent in the army with tanks to clear the vehicles from the road. Because they were right-wing and hence no threat to the bourgoisie elite, they were allowed to illegally block traffic.

Anyways, real progressives are pro 2nd amendment. You have only have a problem with centrist liberals. Centrist liberals are the most fervently anti 2nd amendment because they're mostly pro-bourgoisie and anti-working-class. You call them "leftists" because you're politically clueless like most right-wing Americans.

And these weren’t 2a rallies. They were protests against lockdown measures intended to protect public health. Why would it be okay to have guns there?

They were also disruptive. They created a traffic jam that blocked access to hospitals. They were doing the exact kind of "civil disobedience" thing right wingers cry about as "violent" and cheer on bloodthirsty riot police whenever it's left-wingers doing it. If the vehicle protests in Lansing were left-wing the right would be calling to bring tanks in to clear the streets.

But of course. It’s called hypocrisy.

I was listening to some right wing internet journalist who’s name o forget. He’s a fit black guy who used to be military or something. Anyways, in a very recent video he praised these protestors and said protesting injustices of government is what Americans do best and they should be commended. LOL bet he’s never said that about a left wing protest of any kind!

Why did 46.1% of normal voting folk elected the aforementioned "s**theads" to run their country (and by default the free world), therein lies the problem. Right wingers talking crazy is a normal part of life. When half the population agree with their slogans that is not normal....but that's a taboo topic

Part of it was the great con of drain the swamp. Another huge problem today is the weaponized targeted advertising to swing voters, abusing social media data. Things started to change when fox news started poisoning the well in the late 90's and the divide only got worse after 911. News sources have become a billionaires club offering biased opinions as news and once Obama became president the gloves came off so the divide got wider and the political divide shifted to the far right once the Koch brothers hijacked the tea party. Now America is stuck with a turd that clogged the drain because they elected a 1%er rather than a puppet for the 1%. Was that crazy enough?

This is only part of the story. The real story was what was going through the heads of ordinary Americans to elect a misogynistic, corrupt, failed businessmen with zero political leadership skills, who went bankrupt three times in order to avoid paying debt collectors and an on the basis of his now famous racist slogans, blatant lies and unrealistic promises.

Years of partisan politics and a steady diet of biased opinions in the form of news normalized far right ideas so those who would have been dismissed years before have come front and center and acceptable because of the political divide and amplified by the echo chamber of social media. Being able to digest alternative facts (convenient lies) allows them to dismiss the opinion of those who are seen as the enemy because they have been conditioned to see them as such.

That the holier than thou schooly educated democrats from the coasts had left them behind in their wake as they went full throttle into the new millennium.

Angry poor white people with very little education latched onto trump’s lies that he was going to bring them opportunities and prosperity that career politicians had neglected to provide.

So, appealing to the hate in their hearts for politicians, Democrats, the Washington establishment, non-whites etc etc he won them over and they put him, a f*****g moron, in office to “stick it,” to the man.

40 plus years of propaganda. I also don’t believe there is legitimate democracy when all major media outlets are owned by oligarchs. When things are bad (increasing inequality and financial insecurity) you typically get both a more extreme left and a more extreme right. In the US all money goes either to the extreme right or to “centrists” who want to maintain a status quo that obviously isn’t working for a huge chunk of people. Money thus tilts the entire political sphere to the right.

The far right gets a lot of money. The far left gets nothing. This alone tilts thing tremendously when there’s growing discontent because nobody but the very well off thinks the middle ground status quo is actually working.

So I think its time to give the wheel to somebody who is a "real leader" during this coronavirus so we can all get back to saving the planet from global warming.

Trump can’t als didn’t. Leftist block traffic in Portland every other week. Antifa, black life matters etc. nothings done to stop them, even though they attack people, burnt cars and buildings. The police are told to do nothing.

Did any of the protesters there attack anyone? Burn any cars? Damage any property? Or did they just circle around on the empty roads near the capital?

I don't think many people in this thread know what a major economic meltdown looks like. Think of formerly well off middle and working class professionals, like doctors, teachers, engineers et al selling family heirlooms to buy bread, next to the tent in which they now sleep by the side of the road. We saw a small taste of that during the 2008 crisis. This corona depression could be 5-10x worse by some estimates. Trump is absolutely right to believe that is worse than the worst possible outcomes of the coronavirus.
